Poor Rosie, what a nasty bug /virus you've got/had. It's good to hear you are slowly feeling better so plenty of rest to restore those energy levels. Please look after yourself and take care.
Red Maple, this weather seems to have put some plants in a real spin about what time of year it is! One good thing about the milder winter( so far) is that the central heating less than normal.
Busy, I was more than  sorry to hear your  news that your OH's  op has been cancelled yet again.Everything aside, I feel for your OH having to suffer so much pain for so long. It's disgusting in this day and age.

….. this  should have been posted this morning.………..

    Good afternoon everyone,
Its been a nice day here today, though very chilly. All change tomorrow as we’re back to more heavy rain apparently, so pleased that I got all my jobs that I needed to do done today. Started off with the re-start of the coffee morning group after Christmas- everyone pleased to be back to normal. Then I met OH in town to do a few jobs there, after which we had a spot of lunch before leaving town to go back to the GC to exchange a couple of Xmas decs that we bought in the sale yesterday for half price. Unfortunately when we got them home and out of their boxes, one was broken at the base and the other one didn’t light up when batteries were inserted. No problem exchanging them, though, and we checked that they worked before leaving the GC, so pleased with that result. Home now, so catching up here.
Hope you’ve had a good first day back at school @Ante1. I used to dread that first day back, and have to be honest that I do not miss it in the slightest since retiring.
@debs64, also hope that your fiancé enjoys his first day at his new place of work. The first day is always rather daunting, isn’t it?
Take care of yourself Rosie, hope that bug is well on its way out.

I hope @debs64 's fiancé has enjoyed his first day. The place looks amazing.

NDN, the one who fell, had a gas cylinder delivered today. Man struggled to get up the path to her kitchen door. I spent the morning pruning and clearing it. I'm afraid a lot of the honeysuckle was ours, escaped through the fence, but she had one too. There was the most enormous bramble, hers, and masses of ivy, hers too, grown into a huge bush at the entrance. It has nearly filled our brown bin.

I'm glad she is now wearing an emergency button around her neck.

I was wakened this morning at 05:00 by a light flashing on the wall of my bedroom. I got up to see what was happening outside and noticed an ambulance with its blue lights flashing, parked near to Jack's bungalow. I was really worried but knew that I couldn't ring then to see what was going on. Jack has a panic button Busy and I am the second contact in his list - I have a key to his bungalow. It was there until about 05:30. I rang Jack about 09:15 as I knew he would have surfaced by then. With his bedroom being on the back he was completely unaware of what had gone on but both his neighbours are quite fragile. I was off to visit rellies and Jack was due to go to Salford Royal for a check up - his ambulance was due about 13:00. I will find out later but I have been asked to quiz again tonight so I might not know until tomorrow.
Red maple, it sounds as though you did well there in preparation for later this year. I too, dreaded the new term starting and trying to get the very excited students back on track.

    Good evening all.

Sorry I didn't read back, but we have quite awful day. Hope you all had a nice day. Storm after storm, rain and thunders. I'm feeling quite tired, despite afternoon nap.
Poirot is on tv, but I'm going to make small snack.

Ante, that's not a good start to the new term, what awful weather you've had today. I hope it clears away soon for you.Get a good rest tonight.
Ive done some indoor activities today and some pottering about. My iPad is behaving terribly at the moment, really slow and taking a long time to open any sites. Giving up for today and will sign out for tonight. Night everyone.

Good evening . The weather has been dreadful here too Ante . Plenty to do indoors . I got more jobs done than I expected to . I have been trying to pack up as many unwanted items that I can find . I am going to get a charity to pick them up . It doesn’t seem long since I sent several bags of clothes books and to the charity shop.
Signing out . Have a good night folks .

    Good morning to all.

Grey and cold morning. I can see snow on the around hills. If I catch time, I'll probably go with Max to the cottage to walk on the snow.
Last few days I have slightly problem with GW site. I wrote a goodnight post yesterday, and I'm sure that I pressed post button, but now I found it in draft section. It's not first time this week.
Well, I must go to the school, so see you all later.

Wish you nice and warm day.

A very good morning one and all. It is absolutely dreadful outside and I have no idea when my poor garden will get the 'tidy up' it badly needs. How's the ark build coming along Biglad?
I was very late back from the quiz last night. We didn't win but our score was not as bad as the last time and the questions were more general. I enjoyed it.
Ruby, my forced indoor day today might push me into bagging up some 'clutter' I need to get rid of.

Ante, I can imagine that the snow on the hills looks nice - from a distance!
I must try and find out about the early ambulance disturbance yesterday morning and how Jack got on at the hospital. Time for tea and cereals.
p.s. Can't wait to hear from Debs how her fiancé's day went.
