    Afternoon all,

As predicted, for the first time in living memory, the local weather forecast was spot on - it's tipping down :oΒ

No golf or gardening today (unless you count a quick dash righting all the pots that have blown over).

Waiting for an interval in the downpour to go back out and read the meters before it goes dark.

    Afternoon everyone.
I'm very sorry for my absent whole week. It was PITA whole the time. Two days in a row we have huge storm with rain and wind. In the city where I go to shopping was huge fload and one person died. I don't have any damage, but my PC decided to die yesterday evening. I'm working on my tablet and phone, but don't like it.
I hope you are all well. Have a lot to read back.

Evening all. Well what a day! 5 hours of my life I will never get back - in Spooksavers. My prescription has changed as I suspected so that means my contacts will have to be adjusted too. I got absolutely soaked from the knees down and my umbrella blew inside out several times as I made my way home.
New glasses will (hopefully/possibly) be ready before I go to France. Got a contacts appointment next Wednesday to get the right prescription for those as well.
Biglad, I'm not surprised that the golf was off in the monsoon type rain we have had.
Hi Ante. Good to see you. Sorry to hear about the storms and the tragic loss of that poor person in the flood. We moan and whinge here about the weather but we are lucky compared to some. It is looking very bad in Florida. Hope that you manage to get a new PC sorted. I, too, much prefer the large screen to work on rather than the smaller screens of tablets and phones.

Oh dear @Ante1, you have had a bad week.

I harvested my 3 butternut squash and pulled up the 2 plants. They won't make any more now. I tidied up the grapevine. It's been quite sunny. I went out and bought a few things like shampoo and washing up liquid. I can't mention anything else or that chap in a tank will get meΒ

    Evening LB and Bussy.

LB, sorry to hear about your bad day, and that you were soaked on the way home. When do you travel to France?Β

Bussy, my squashes are still on the field. Next week we will have indian summer so I'll let them grow a bit more.
