    Morning all.

Had to laugh at @Busy-Lizzie 's description of her afternoon & evening. With that lot going on, think I'd have settled for jacket potatoes or a couple of pizzas rather than a full roast dinner - but hats off to you for doing it.

I opted for an induction hob when we had the kitchen done. Took a few goes to get used to it but now I wouldn't have any other sort. Much faster response than a regular electric hob and much more controllable than gas.

Meant to say yesterday that I want a remote controlled dinosaur - that sounds such fun @Songbird-2

LB - sounds like you're nearly ready to go. We haven't been asked for Covid certs at the ferry terminals this year but we were asked for them at airport in June. We have ours on the NHS app which was straightforward for me to set up because I was already online with the GP's surgery. Took 24hrs for OH because he wasn't.

Rubee, I'm very sorry to hear that your OH had another unsettled night. Hope he is a bit better now.

Thank you Rosie, we are all well, and weather is lovely.

LB, you gave me wonderful idea, so I serched for tea plant seeds and ordered one bag. Only 2 £. It will be interesting experiment. If I manage to grow tea plant, I'll need to keep it at cottage. They can't survive hot and dry summer. Can you see what you started here.😆

Thank you Ante . He is a bit more settled .Enjoy the tea experiment . Looking forward to read the results . I wonder how long the tea plants need to grow before the leaves can be harvested .

    Morning all.

I'm back home. Stopped at the big GC on the way home and bought snowdrops, more cyclamen and grape hyacinths, so I'll be planting them this afternoon.

Thank you for calling me Wonder Woman, I'm really quite ordinary  :) The GCs are aged between 1 and 8 so not everyone needed their bottom wiped! Eleonore (3 yrs old) said she didn't like Melissa who was taking over from me because she's fat. Melissa arrived and was sylph like and pretty! Breakfast was quite chaotic. They all said they wanted hot chocolate and strawberry syrup. When Mummy rang she told me that the strawberry syrup belonged to Daddy and forbidden. I had been taken advantage of! When I dressed Eleonore she screamed and cried. Turned out she didn't want her socks on because her feet were hot. The older ones speak some English, Eleonore doesn't yet. I speak French but baby French can be tricky!

Morning.Rubbish sleep last night and weird dreams. I was glad to get up this morning. Both OH and I are feeling very achy and shattered now, not a lot will be getting done today Rosie, no fear of that.
Ante, if you're going to have a go at growing tea and if it is  successful, would you be willing to share?🫣😊😂 I'm a big tea drinker,OH drinks coffee. Maybe we could try growing coffee🤔🙂
Busy, think us grandparents are always being taken advantage of by our grandchildren. 23 always wants to stay here when he's visited....I wonder why?🤔🙄

Hazel, hope you both are better now after rubish night. Don't worry, I'll send you my first tea crop. 😂 We can brew only white tea, because leaves for green and black tea must ferment in specific equipment. I was amased that only two top leaves and new bud from every branch can be use for brewing tea.

Ante, goodness, I didn't realise only the top few leaves and new bud were used to make the tea. That must mean millions of plants would need to be planted.Hmmm it might take some time, then, for us to get a cuppa then😂 White tea will be grand.

Good afternoon all. Shock news here - I actually applied the hot metal thing to some cloth stuff! First time in 5 years but don't worry, I had a general anaesthetic first. I was somewhat surprised to see that the sliding cover over the hole where you add water had actually perished in the sunlight coming through the window where I stand the 'thing' and had all crumbled away. I do not think I will be repeating that activity - EVER!
Ante - I never said a thing!  How strange is this though, there was a programme on TV today about an English tea plantation and it was mentioned on there about only the top leaves and bud being used.
When I was at college we used to call tea 'Nectar of the Gods' as it was our favourite hot drink.
Busy, Round 2 of the baby sitting sounds as funny as Round 1. You deserve a medal after all that
