Itโs basically jam made with tomatoes not fruit, sweet but with a tang. I used all my cherry tomatoes even the green ones. Supposed to be good with cold meats or cheese. Will send a little jar down the tunnel.ย
The obelisk I ordered has just been delivered by the postwoman. I'll put it together this morning.
Today was forecast to be fine. I put the sheets in the new washing machine to be rinsed as the old machine conked out before it finished the cycle. Now I see the forecast has changed and it will rain at lunchtime. I hope it's OK tomorrow as I want to do a clothes wash before I go. Babysitting for Son 2 at the weekend so I can't do it then.
Also want to plant daffodils. I may have to leave the big bag until I get back, I expect the orchard is very dry still.
I don't think washing is an unmentionable as the machine does it.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Back from dropping off the monitor. There were two Eastern Europeans at the reception desk - one the translator for the other. Whilst waiting I was putting myself in their shoes and I felt so very sorry for them. The receptionist was lovely with them. Eventually they were sorted out and I was able to pass the monitor and accroutrements over the protective shield which meant I had to do my best impression of Michael Jordan.
I have sorted out a huge collection of 'stuff' to take to the Sue Ryder Charity Shop near Bestie so I hope she's up for an outing!
Debs that tomato jam sounds delicious. I hope that fiancรฉ approves.
Busy - wrong!
You will enjoy getting the obelisk built and I hope that you can get your daffodils in the ground fairly soon.
The forecast for tomorrow here is horrendous. Hazel - our favourite 'hate' - strong winds so we had better batten down our hatches.

Morning all. Bright and sunny again but it's very chilly. No doubt now that autumn is underway! Did try swapping from the 4 tog duvet to the 9 tog but got far too warm under that so it's not winter yet.ย
LB - hadn't seen the cloning story. It's all clever and very interesting stuff and can clearly be put to good use in the right hands. However, there's a bit of me that finds it deeply disturbing. One book / film which left a deep and last impression on me was The Boys from Brazil. It's all about cloning and scared the beejezus out of me at the time.
Hope the blood pressure readings were ok.
Debs - I have enjoyed (more than one!) delicious savoury cream tea before now featuring cheese scones, cream cheese and different tomato jams. (tom and peppers, toms and chilli etc etc). Much prefer that to a sweet cream tea. I'm sure your jam would work well.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Debs some of your tomato jam will go down well with my lunch of cheddar cheese ,spring onions and crisp bread .TBird I stopped changing the duvet to either winter or summer weight many years ago . I have a four tog on the bed all year round . I pile on ย throws as the winter gets colder .It works for me .If we have a warm spell in winter I throw of one of the throws .
T'Bird, I agree. I had a little frisson of unease myself about the cloning - especially where it is taking place at the moment. 'The Boys From Brazil' scared the c**p out of me as well.
I shivered when I saw that some of you use 4 tog duvets as my lowest is 10.5 tog. I use the 'leg out from under' as my temperature control.
