    Good morning LB and all to follow.

    LB, I'm glad that you had a nice time with Bestie. Have a lovely day with rellies.

    It's rainy and rather cold morning, and I loved it. Perfect weather to stay inside and read. All my pets are fed, so it's my tea time.
    I had some plums near to end, so I baked upside down plum cake. It will be perfect with cup of tea.

    Is anyone for a small bite 😊

    Good morning all. Our last day here we leave tomorrow back to reality. We have had such a wonderful time the weather particularly has been amazing. Clear blue skies and sunshine every day. Yorkshire is so beautiful so green and lush. Only issue is that this place has fishing lakes fiancé wanted to have a go but water is so low he feels it’s unfair as we can actually see the fish! There are lots of water birds though and a pair of buzzards that we watch from our hot tub. It’s been the perfect break we both needed. Things will change when we go home as wedding season is almost over fiancé may work away. I will miss him but in some ways it’s easier as he will be less stressed.
    @Ante1 two slices here please.

    Morning SGL and debs.

    Debs, I'm so happy that you and fiance have a great time together.

    Next time I'll bake bigger cake, or maybe two.

    Hi folks,  Your holiday sounds idyllic @debs64 just what you both needed.  Must say @Ante1 that cake looks yummy.
    A bit dull and grey here, not sure if I'm in the mood to do more gardening will wait and see.  Could do with edging the lawns and sorting out the wisteria, it needs tying in.  Secondborn and the boys went to the Malvern Autumn Show yesterday.  They all had a great time.  Jonah was fascinated by everything, especially the Science tent.  He spent a long time with the organisers identifying pollen and looking at all the fungus etc growing in petri dishes.  Gabriel, on the other hand, loved the circus activities. They are just so different.  Mind you they both loved stroking giant tortoises, meerkats and found the giant vet fascinating.  Love the Spring show but never been to the Autumn one.
    Enjoy what's left of the weekend folks.

    Good afternoon everyone. Had a nice catch up with handy brother today. He wanted to show off his new furniture - bought from the famous Scandinavian flat pack store. The two sofas and chair look really nice - dark grey upholstery that goes well with his grey carpet. He also bought a coffee table and some bookcases. Other brother and SIL have gone off for a mini break to Bristol. They had to leave earlier than expected as their hotel had been in touch to say that there was some 'happening' in Bristol this weekend and the advice was to get there as soon as possible as there was a possibility of roads being closed.
    Thank you Ante. I think two cakes is a grand idea!
    Debs, its a shame some holidays have to end but you have had a lovely time and there will be some wonderful memories. It will also be nice for your fiancé to have some less stressful jobs ahead. I bet you are glad that he put his foot down!
    Ruby and SGL I hope that both of your OHs are feeling more comfortable today.
    Yvie, it sounds as though Secondborn and the boys had a fascinating time at the show but please can you explain 'giant vet' to me. Is this a larger than average vet or one who specialises in treating giants??
