Ruby, not gardening today - doing unmentionable stuff involving Lily's TV this morning then this p.m. off to help Bestie with the preparations for the surprise party.
Ante, that is such a kind thing to do - taking in abandoned kitties and how nice that you can feed and walk your neighbour's little dog for her. How long will she be away? Jack's daughter is going to look after Lily for me whilst I am away.
Busy the rain will help your grass recover and it will be nice to spend time with your relatives.
p.s. Lily's TV nearly done and the sun has disappeared! Typical.

Hi folks, I've just spent a couple of hours in the garden, and I'm shattered. Don't know how you do so much @Ante1. Glad to hear you are putting your feet up today. I've cleared out the greenhouse and picked the last few toms to ripen in the conservatory. Washed all the glass down and packed away all the tom and cucumber halos ready for next year. It's now ready to move the tender plants into when the time comes. I'm determined not to let the garden go this Autumn. It was such a tough job to get things sorted in the Spring. Looking after the boys tonight so Secondborn can go out for a drink with her girlfriends. Love the cake LB, could do with a slice and a cuppa now but I'll have to settle for a sandwich as I'm trying to be good. Glad to hear you are enjoying your hols @debs64
LB, have a nice time, and see you tomorrow. It's only four days that I need to take care of neighbors dog. It's not a problem because he is used to me, and I pet him every morning when I go to school.
Now is my turn to make a visit. I'll bring some plum jam to lady who help me at my cottage.
Daughter and 2 children came to lunch and stayed all day. One son didn't come, at a birthday party. We had a look at my little river, it's dried up, first time ever. Previous owner of my cottage said it never dried up. We are now having a thunder storm and heavy rain.

I've heard it is expensive @Lyn, but I don't know how much. In France most people have it, called a "Mutuelle". No one I've spoken to among my UK friends has it.

Good morning all. Had a super time yesterday and the surprise really was a good one. Bestie's daughter and her OH go off on a cruise next Wednesday so I won't see them for a while - glad my hair appointment fitted in with their plans
