Busy, I meant to say yesterday that I have that brand of washing machine and I am very pleased with it - even down to the little burst of Schubert's Trout Quintet that let's me know its finished. Naturally Lily loves it too! Off to get fastened to a BP monitor for the next 24 hours - deep joy!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Marti didn't get to us yesterday until a fleeting sprinkle in the evening. It was sunny for a lot of the day. Today looks like a cracker as well - an autumnal nip in the air at the moment but a clear, crisp start at least I'm due to be golfing on Friday afternoon so that will be when the heavens open Β
Just put the garden waste bin out and fetched the milk in. Obviously, a 2-minute job turned into half an hour of pottering and faffing! The 3rd blueberry bush (Aurora) has given up its last fruit of the year. It's gone from 9 berries in 2021 to 325 this year (not that I'm counting ), which I'm very happy with. Basically, the 3 plants have provided enough fruit to put on my breakfast every day for 3 months. Plus, the local bird population have managed an occasional treat. Just blackberries left now.
Good morning Everyone .LB I hope your blood pressure will be ok .Big Lad I would love to grow blueberries. I have failed in the past .Well done you thatβs an amazing increase of berries . I am hoping to do some hedge cutting today ,weather permitting .
Good morning all. Sunny here so planning a day of tidying in the garden. I got some pretty violas yesterday when my daughter and I had lunch in my favourite GC so I am going to plant up some pots with those and dwarf daffodil bulbs to brighten up a few places.Β
Morning all - a bright but rather chilly start today. Hopefully I'll get out and do the big buddleia and elder today. A couple more heavy showers stopped play again yesterday (hooray!) and the grass is now much greenerπ
SGL - a hug for you. Hope things work out ok and you're able to rejoin us soon. You and OH will be in our thoughts.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Well here I am all tethered - the good news is that I do not need to wear the BP monitor in bed so the '24 hours' has now become more like '12 hours'. I was advised NOT to use power tools - damn! I'll have to put the drill away now; or lots of random arm movements either so window cleaning and knitting are out of the question. Might leave my pruning until a later date too.

The washing machine has been delivered, did a trial short wash and it works.Β
I've just been for my 4th Covid vaccination at the Pharmacie. The young woman who did it told me to take it easy today, so I shall. It's a wet day anyway.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
