Good  morning everyone . Big Lad your start to the week hasn’t been good .Sorry to hear about your wife’s car .I hope it’s easily sorted .LB it’s been wild and windy here too . I was woken several times by heavy rain on the window .I was hoping to cut some of the hedge back today .I will postpone that for a day or two .

Hi folks, Showers here and the wind is strengthening, but not enough to cause any damage.  Not sure what to do today, no gardening due to the weather.  Mind you I don't mind as I've got quite a lot done over the last few days.  I'm not going to do anything to annoy Col TT, not in the mood, so I might sort out my art stuff as classes start again tomorrow.
Sorry to hear about the car @Biglad, hope it's nothing too serious.
I'm feeling a bit Mondayish too LB.

Afternoon all - just back from SM. Didn't really need much in the way of food but there was a Click & Collect JL order waiting for me. Also just put some wet textiles out. It's quite breezy so hopefully they'll dry before the forecast rain arrives.

We've had a couple of very welcome short sharp showers this last week. Hoping they'll continue over the next 6 months to rescue all the gardens around here.

Need to do some more shrub & tree cutting. OH kindly did the most difficult bits with the hedge trimmer for me on Saturday. Pulled my shoulder on holiday and can't lift anything above my head. So he made the mess and I cleared it all up.

I was able to do the buddleias and autumn raspberries myself and will continue with the hazel trees, viburnums and sambucus today or tomorrow. The little chain saw I bought earlier in the year will be worth its weight in gold.

Big Lad - hope you get the car sorted. That sort of problem is not something either of you needed at 5.30am.

How lovely to be able to say that my gardening plans were rained off. Fairly light stuff but better than nowt.

Afternoon all. T'bird - you have rain! Fantastic. I managed to get another Lily's TV load done today so I'm now up to date. As yesterday, I managed to get the dry cloths in just as the rain started again. In the dry spell I got all the bird feeders - front and back - refilled and I moved some Canterbury Bells, Chives and Primulas.
Yvie, that first fire sounds so nice! I hogged the chiminea at the party on Saturday. There is something very hypnotic about a real fire. Bestie's son kept feeding it logs. Bliss!

I've had a gardening day today, mostly weeding. I've ordered an obelisk because rose Darcey Bussel in the round rose bed has decided to be a climber. She was supposed to be a shrub but was a very cheap special offer soon after I moved here. I rang round local CGs but all were out of stock of obelisks.

I've been lighting the wood stove on and off. Lit it this morning, only 9° outside, but now it's warm inside so I let it go out.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
