32C here now. Watered the floppy things first thing. Did some computer work and waiting for OH to come off the phone as we need a bit of shopping in town and it is too hot to walk in and back so I'll take the car. Don't like driving such a tiny distance but needs must. Good luck with the admin @Hostafan1. It's always great when there is good news in the family @punkdoc. Hope OH continues to recover well @Lizzie27 and enjoy seeing your son when he eventually arrives @Busy-Lizzie. So worrying about the wild fires. If only there was some way of storing all this heat so we could release it in the winter when we need it and reduce our fuel bills.
Hello all, it's cooler here today at just 34 deg! When I walked round the house indoors this morning and it was so hot, I was also thinking wouldn't it good if we could store this heat for winter use. Hopefully it will be less hot tomorrow, my Zinnias have all faded in the sun but at least they are all alive. Hose pipes are banned here between 8am and 8pm, not sure if that is of much use to the drought conditions as it's too hot to water during the day anyway.
Hi everyone, 28.5 in the kitchen 34 in the garden. We went to local shops this am bit cooler in there. I think the car park machines are overheating as the barriers were just opening without giving a ticket, but then had issues getting out. We are off to Dublin next week for the last of the trips booked for 2020, till you know what happened. Got some Euros and ffp2 masks for the flight. Just checked the weather there for next week 17 C and wet, typical -ah well.
Evening all, I'm fried. I started repairing a couple of loose paving slabs at the top of our steps and found that the brickwork under it was collapsing. A quick run to the diy shop for a bigger bag of mortar following by several hours of step rebuilding on a very hot day.
Evening all, unfortunately we've spent most of the day in A&E - OH had complications overnight and we were advised this morning to go to our local Minor Injuries for advice/treatment. They were very kind and very efficient with OH hooked up to several machines for monitoring which took several hours but in the end about 5 ish they said he could go home rather than stay in overnight - big relief. I existed all day on 2 coffees, 2 biscuits plus a KitKat! BUT they had air conditioning which was lovely.
It was extremely hot when we got home, about 36c but cooling down nicely now. I'm looking forward hopefully to the rain on Tuesday. Plan to put out as many buckets, bowls etc as I can muster.
What a lovely invite @Punkdoc, I was bought up on Winnie the Pooh and loved them.
Hope you have a good time with sons @Busy-Lizzie and they don't have many travel problems. I see over here the idiots have set fire to Studland Heath near Poole and they've had 90 firefighters there and in Bristol more idiots have deliberately set some woods on fire. What is with these people?
Oh @Lizzie27 I do hope your OH has is feeling much better and is recovering well now. Please give him my best wishes. I hope you both have a restful night tonight. 🤗
