As the music finished I became aware of the sound of biscuits crunching … yes the hedgehogs were tucking into their supper … the we went to shut the studio door just in time to dissuade a lovely sand-coloured frog from hopping over the threshold. He wouldn’t be the first … the other summer we had a frog and a pigeon walk into the sitting room and make themselves at home.Ā

Now I’m in bed … or rather on it … under a sheet … that’s more than enough … still in the uncomfortable sweaty high 20s here … you’d love it @Hostafan1 … night night all … sweet dreams 😓

Hello Forkers. We’ve a clear cloudless morning and not warm. You wouldn’t like it Hosta.Ā

I’m waiting for Hubby to wake so that I can put a drop in his eye. A bit late, but it’ll have to do.Ā

    Hello again.Ā

Just pondering! Ā One of my friends told me recently that Putin was a relation - descendant from Rasputin. Hence the name. Does anyone know if this is true or some rubbish that she had read on line? Ā

    Hi all

Another uncomfortable night, so decamped outside an hour ago.
How can you lie there and think of England

    Good morning all 😊 ā˜•ļøĀ
Dont blame you @punkdoc … lovely time of day to be out there.Ā

There’s all sorts of ridiculous Ā theories put about @Pat E … think the one your friend mentioned is being spread by David Icke, the chap who thinks the queen is a lizard. There’s also a sect in Russia who worship Putin as some sort of reincarnation … totally bonkers … the internet is wonderful in many ways … it also attracts the Crazies šŸ™„ Ā

A hot sticky night here too … but cooler just now… only 16C … there’s the hint of rain in todays forecast … but I’m not holding my breath …

    Good morning Forkers.

The temperature has become reasonable!!  22°C this morning!!

I raced home from walkies yesterday morning deciding that I would dig a space for winter crops. Ā The ground was certainly damp from the rain we had. Ā But the spade didn't even go down 6 inches before it was powder dry!! Ā Anyway, onwards and upwards. Ā I have sown: Ā Black Radish, White Radish, Chinese Radish, long beetroot, spinach, scarole, mesclun, carrots, turnips, parsnips and kale. Ā (A little of each) I have Pak Choy and about 6 cabbages that have come up in a seed box, so will dig up my sad cucumbers and plant there next month. Ā If everything surfaces - I shall be pretty windy and warm for the winter!!! Ā Could always switch to methane as a form of energy!!

First a shortage of loo rolls during covid - then cooking oil (sunflower oil here), then mustard, now it seems due to the drought, potatoes will be scarce - or available for a price!! Ā

That's a sizeable mutt @Hostfan1 Ā Wolfhound? Ā And a sizeable lawn which looks lush!!

Enjoy your day.  Today being Assumption here is one of the many expressions:  "Entrer les 2 NÓtre Dame, jamais serpent n'a osé se montrer.   Between today and 8th September, snakes don't dare make an appearance!

    - But they do!!

    Tui
