A short sharp shower here … maybe 5 minutes … I stood out in it for a while and watched a young dunnock flitting about on the runner beans … he’d never seen anything like it …
That was it tho … it’s stopped now …
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Good afternoon, everyone, I am awaiting the return of OH and the girls, they've gone shopping for clothes for SD. SIL went back to airport but still chaos there piles of luggage everywhere, no sign of SDs. I should say we are not actually in Dublin but a lovely place near Laystown just up the coast. Its a small complex of cottages, on what was originally part of a farm in the current owners family for nearly 100 years. Apparently the original parts of 3 of the cottages are around 300 years old . We are surrounded by beautiful gardens with private gated access to a beach (tho the beach itself is public) . Already been for a long walk on the beach and toured the gardens, cool damp and breezy here . Will explore further tomorrow.
didyw, there's another grandaughter in the oven, so I won't miss out. We had a shower this morning,2 claps of thunder, one lightening bolt, daughter,10 minutes away had 2 minutes of rain, but she's had several storms this year,we haven't.
Power and water off this morning, they’ve rewired our water pumping station, gave us all those bottles of water saying the job would be finished by 1.30pm, actually finished at 11.15am nice job, pleased with what they’ve done.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Hi folks, It's been threatening to rain all evening but no sign yet. I hope it does arrive as I haven't watered. Nothing exciting going on here but Firstborn and the family are back in the country, Secondborn got back on Saturday. I don't know why but I always feel a bit anxious when they are abroad, silly isn't it.
