our weather is completely dry and cloud free today. Crazy trying to plan anything. I hope some of you get your much needed rain and the ones that got flooded are easing off. Sounds like Oz weather
Good morning all. Tender thoughts for you today @Hostafan - it will be 9.15 here.
Orange alert for us last night with violent storm and heavy rain. The mayor cancelled the open air St Roch festivities last night. Everything in again including dogs and waited.....and waited....and waited. Woke for the proverbial "oui"and the sky was groaning and moaning in the distance. No rain - no rain to speak of but the air is cool (20°C), the sky is overcast and grey and it's windy. I have hope for the seeds that I sowed and it gives me the courage to get into some more weeding this morning. The trailer is almost full and I have yet to trim back the grapevines.
Bon voyage @Busy-Lizzie I hope you can get some good news re your OH's op. Agreed @punkdoc about the wish for rain - I imagine that Montpellier will have copped it last night. It's been so hot, so the rain is torrential. Weird times.
Doom and gloom, due to the drought, fruit and vegetables are to soar in price early September - as it will for you too, I imagine.
But on a positive note - those quiche look scrummy @WonkyWomble Good idea for a meal!
Sending special love and hugs to @Hostafan1 this morning 🤗 xx
Hope @Busy-Lizzie has a good trip back to Norfolk today 😊
It looks as if we’ve had some drizzle overnight … but nothing more than that … it seems that the 90% likelihood of rain all day has disappeared and we have a 30% possibility of rain for a couple of hours this afternoon.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Back from town and have survived another drive. I can’t get over the accelerator being so touchy. My old Mazda wasn’t like that, but the speed goes up and down with hardly any action on my part. Lots more practice needed I guess.
Hubby was disgusted to find that the post office now closes for an hour for lunch. Of course, it was when he had struggled up the 10 concrete steps before he found out. This meant we had to go and do other things before he could collect a parcel that he had a notice about. He never had joint problems before he started the prostate medication 😡 so it’s hard to get used to.

Thinking of Hosta at this sad time.
