Re the watering bans. Don’t you lot have bores for water. We have a bore from 40 metres down that we can use for the garden. Ā It’s artesian water and Ā nothing wrong Ā with it. Ā

Morning everyone,Ā  another bad night for sleeping.Ā  No sugn of rain here. Dove joked about hibernation on another thread, but in this heat we are virtually leading a nocturnal life. I was on the plots last evening watering while OH watered the garden,Ā  we do lead an exciting life.
Lovely photos @Pat EĀ  yes some water companies use boreholes in fact that's where most water comes from in our region.Ā  The problem is they are taking so much ground water it's affecting some habitats, like so called chalk streams, so much that some are drying up. There'sĀ  a big row brewing here that no new reservoirs have been built for decades, in spite of population growth andĀ  increased demand.

    Morning all.

Son 1 and family have just left.

Son 2, wife and 5 littlies are now in a taxi heading for Gatwick, hoping to get a flight to Bordeaux. As I said in my last post, their flight from Southampton to Bergerac was cancelled yesterday. Their car is at Bergerac airport. It's been a nightmare with 5 little ones and no help from British Airways.

We have rain! There was a lot of rain and a storm with thunder and lightening in the night. Now much cooler, thank goodness.

    Hi all

Another scorcher here, going to be a bit warm at the christening.

We are starting to move pots again, our turn to spend time with MIL later this week. We have hired a cottage, so newly engaged BIL can come and stay for a couple of days. At least it will hopefully be cooler in Ballater.

Morning everybody. Oh is feeling a lot better, thanks for all the good wishes.

I'm sorry @Pat E I forgot to wish your OH success after his cataract op. Beautiful spring flowers you've got there.
@Busy-Lizzie, do hope your son and family manage to catch their new flight ok. My son and family were due to fly to France from Gatwick yesterday but haven't yet heard if they've made it. It's such a worry people could well do without on holiday and even more so if you've got very small children.

@AnnaB, trust your little dog will be ok after the op.

I must say @Punkdoc that we're in separate beds at the moment - and I'm loving it.
OH didn't want to beĀ  accidentally kicked on his wound site and I'm relishing not being woken up every two hours or so for his loo visits.

We're hunkered down in the sitting room with the curtains drawn, OH has just nodded off so I'm marooned on the recliner until he wakes up (the motor makes a noise when activated). Still, more time playing on the laptop.

Hope everyone manages to enjoy their Sunday despite the heatĀ  but don't envy you in the slightest @chicky. I do like a good joust though!

Best wishes for Pippen, @AnnaB. One of our dogs had a leg amputated. You'd think it would slow them down - it doesn't, They waste no time feeling sorry for themselves, it's just 'does it hurt today? Nope? Off we go then'. I hope she recovers well and you can keep her from bouncing too soon.

Warm again. I'm not a hothouse flower, for sure. A bit cooler next week and maybe some rain. It would be nice if that wasn't the end of the fine weather, but a bit of a break would be welcome
