Last time I went to Blickling I was driving my own car, new, only 3 weeks old. On the way home Tom Tom told us to go down a narrow lane and a little old lady came towards us, didn't go into her passing place, just carried on and scratched the side of my car. The people in the car behind leapt out of their car and stood in the road so she had to stop, they were afraid she'd do the same to them. Then a local farmer arrived and the chap from the Blickling car park, just off duty. He said she'd been a menace driving round the car park frightening people and she'd driven over his foot. Someone called the police, they called an ambulance in case the old lady had had a stroke or something. Her driving licence was out of date. Turned into a social event. But my poor, new, shiny, red car!

On another note entirely,  we noted a lot more militarily flights, both over our friends house and especially at Oxburgh Hall. Our friends told us they usually just fly on a Monday,  but it seems to be every weekday at the moment.  Given the recent news I hope it's just precautionary.

    Good morning all  :) ☕☕☕

OH has a long day today and left for work at 7:30 so I've got laundry in the machine and bread proving already ... mind you I think we've got sunshine and showers today ... may have to have the roof closed if I'm going to get the washing dry
    ;)

Supper's just a bung it in the oven one (breaded fish, oven chips and peas hauled out of the freezer) so I can get into the studio this morning and watch tennis this afternoon.

@Allotment Boy  at Oxburgh you were on the doorstep of RAF Marham ... one of the UK's major RAF operational bases where the Lightnings are stationed ... to the other side.of you was RAF Lakenheath where the USAF 48th Fighter Wing is based ... and just over the border in Suffolk there's RAF Mildenhall,  mainly hosting the USAF re-fuelling lot ... I'd have been surprised if there wasn't quite a bit of aerial activity on a clear day like yesterday .... noise does seem to depend quite a lot on the weather ... I've a feeling that there's also a fair bit of  intensive training of Nato allies going on at the moment too ... They do try to do most of the noisy stuff over the sea, but of course they do have to get there  ;)

The weather channel has just advised that our temps today ranged from zero to plus 2 degrees.  No wonder I felt cold. 😳

Hello all, keep warm @Pat E and keep the wood burner going. We have cool and wet here, very changeable. You will be able to watch "Le tour" soon, they are not down our way until the last week.
Son is home after his op and there were no complications so he is one very happy chap.
Just found out that daughter and her OH are getting over Covid, she didn't want tell me as she didn't want to worry me, I told her off but I do know where she was coming from, her OH had it worse than her and has lost his taste and smell.
I have Cavolo Nero waiting to be planted out but I'm waiting for OH to make me a large frame for the insect netting to put over them, otherwise they will be eaten by caterpillars and neighbour's hens.   :'(

Looking forward to Le Tour starting Floralies. We’ve got the program marked in red.  Hope your daughter and SIL are ok.  At the moment we have Ninja Warrior (Oz) occupying our evenings. 😂😂.

Glad your son's op went well @floralies and hope your daughter and SIL are OK.  I've seen (on FB posts) that friends of my daughter who were at Glastonbury came back with covid.  No chance of daughter going there - up to her eyes in end of year report writing!
It rained overnight here.  I left the potted on basil pots outside but it doesn't seem to have done them any harm.  I normally have them on a kitchen windowsill but that is yet to be cleared of seed sowing apparatus.  We usually get two or three pesto pickings off them before they succumb to white fly.  Maybe I'll try keeping them outside (they are just on the south-facing doorstep) and see what happens this year.
    Glad you had a good GW get-together at Blickling @Dovefromabove & @Lizzie27.
Keep warm @Pat E - snuggle up with Pixel!

Hi folks,  Nice day here sunny but not too hot.  I've just harvested some potatoes, lettuce, beetroot, radishes and the first cucumber.  Also sowed some more carrots and radish.  Everything seems to be doing OK in the garden apart from the roses that are covered in blackspot  :(
Off to get toes painted later as she couldn't fit me in yesterday.  Nothing else planned so will probably watch some tennis later.
