My apologies, very rude of me. Got a bit carried away by the tv and forgot my manners. Serves me right as the area of the race shown on tv missed out our little village completely! Any way, sorry to hear that you are poorly @Punkdoc, hoping for a speedy recovery. Good news @BusyLizzie regarding your OH's op, it will also be good for the pair of you to spend a little time at the house in France and relax before the August dates arrive. Spent a while in the garden today pulling weeds and trimming here and there, but it was so very windy, hope this stormy weatherĀ doesn't Ā cause any damage to those of your further to the North.
Just popped by before bed.Ā @punkdoc - glad you have found something to amuse you while the antibiotics kick in. We've been to Holkham Hall but not for a few years.Ā They used to have a nursery there and I bought a magnolia stellata for my previous garden - this was when we were coming up to visit my OH's folks before we moved here.Ā Wells is pretty.Ā I have a photograph from a few years ago of a van by the harbour which had 'F**k DEFRA' on the side.Ā Made me chuckle.Ā Ā Anyway, I should be getting ready for bed.Ā Gardening day tomorrow - the plants I got from a local nursery today won't get in the ground by themselves!
Ā Morning all. Ā Minus 5.4 this morning. Ā Very heavy frost out there. Ā Ive just had a call from my sister who still lives in Ulladulla. (Our home town). The bloke who was her husbands best friend and was best man at their wedding has been missing for two days ( with his Labrador). He lived down the coast from her and theyād lost contact over the years. Ā There has been a search for him but itās been called off now. Hmmm. Makes you wonder why. He is 86. Hubby saw it on Facebook but because he didnāt know his name, didnāt tell me about it. I knew him really well when I was a teenager. Ā Very sad. He would be very cold if he was laying somewhere with a broken leg or something. š¢š¢Ā
no other news here except I dug up some Jerusalem Artichokes yesterday and Hubby cooked some. Iād forgotten how sweet they are. Ā Unfortunately we had freshly washed sheets on the bed last night so you can all guess that they had a musical night. š¤Ā
Morning folks, sorry to hear that Punkdoc. Folk who've never had really bad sinus infections have no idea of the pain. Back in the 70s,at work,I looked like I had 2black eyes with them. Been going to the same same osteopath over 30 years,I had acupuncture in the end,so did my youngest daughter, and never had itĀ since . Hope everyone else is OK. Not had chance to chance to pop on here I've got weeks of garden programsĀ notĀ watched, trying to catch up in the gardenĀ
Good morning all š āļøĀ hope today is an improvement @punkdoc ⦠Iām just catching up on the Talking Dirty āChelseaā edition ⦠love the reference to Sir Nicholas Bacon and Alanās orange shoes ⦠Sir Nicholas was my boss in the late 90ās ⦠lovely kind and thoughtful man and very funny ⦠great company ⦠I remember him always making coffees for everyone when he came into the office, always remembering how a very fussy group of folk took theirs. š
