Good morning all 😊 ☕️ good to see you @Pat E 👍 Hope @punkdoc, and anyone else a bit poorly, is on the mend now.
We’ve a bright sunny morning here and we’re being sung to by robins blackbirds and wood pigeons… a pair of robins is nesting in the clematis Freckles behind the viburnum bod. ‘Charles Lamont’ and Rosa glauca. I did that bit of planting especially to attract small birds and we fixed a Robin box to the trellis … the clematis is nice and thick now and the box is well hidden and this year a pair of robins has taken it over. I think they’re on their second brood now. We watch them through the blinds in the evenings, both of them busy popping in and out … better than the telly. 😊 So we’ve had robins nesting in both the back and the front garden this year 😃

We've been out cutting more firewood. We are certainly getting through a lot. It’s good to use up the old dead stuff lying around (from a. Bushfire point of view).
Good morning forkers. Looks quite promising out there today. OH has a hospital appointment this morning so he's off early and I need to decide whether or not to take the dog out now or wait til he gets back.
While I'm pondering that, on the subject of nesting birds, the pied wagtails have already raised their brood and moved on - two chicks fledged that I saw. We're now overtaken with swallows, with a new nest this year, right in front of the windows, up under the porch roof, so I can sit eating my lunch and watching them swoop in and out. The nest seems to be constructed now, looks like we're on to lining materials and finishing touches. They are apparently entirely unconcerned by us on the the other side of the glass, but then the ones that nest in the garage every year ignore us as we walk in and out and the ones in the other half built extension also take no notice of us at all. It does mean we can't clean the windows until the chicks are fledged. What a shame

It does look promising out there @raisingirl … however like your OH I’m not going to be able to play in the sunshine today … I have anappointment with the dental hygienist for a deep clean ‘below the gumline’ 😱😬🤐. First session today and another next Monday … I’m sure it’ll be good once it’s done … but it doesn’t sound like a lot of fun 🙄 on the bright side I may see some swifts over the city centre 😃

Lucky @raisingirl, having swallows. I don't have them in France or England.
OH's niece and her friend are coming to lunch tomorrow. They both have complicated diets so no meat, no dairy, no gluten, no sugar, no potatoes. We are shopping for it today, I will have to look at the diet list again.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning all, early thunderstorm with some rain but not vey useful. Thanks for the info @Busy-Lizzie re @Obelixx I think I can guess why. Not looking foreward to the heat this week as we have to go and water friends garden while they are away, I think it will be a very early morning job! Have a good day all.
