Evening all.  I bought Jaqueline du Pre in the autumn @Busy-Lizzie it's a beautiful rose.  I have it in a pot at the moment.  No room in the garden.  Been out in the garden all day.  Got up lots of leaf litter and edged the back lawn this afternoon.  Really tired now.

Hi all, sounds like most of you have been enjoying the weekend. Sorry to hear of your woes, Punkdoc. Used to suffer often from sinusitis as a child, and can still remember clearly how exquisitely painful it was. We’ve been dog sitting all week, so less time to catch up, but she has gone home today. Managed to trim part of the laurel hedge with one hand holding her lead, but it wasn’t easy. Looking forward to getting back to normal now. I’ve also got to find a way to change my cookie settings. I accidentally pressed the allow all button while logging in, and have ended up with loads of adverts. Will try deleting my search history, that should do it!

Jacqueline du Pré is a gorgeous rose @Busy-Lizzie :)  Where are you going to find room for it?
No room here is Norfolk without digging up lawn but I have room in France, if I can find the rose.

Our lawn is getting smaller bit by bit @Busy-Lizzie 🙄

    Evening all,

Long hot day in the tearoom, but did manage an evening patrol of the garden and some weeding. How on earth do the weeds get so carried away with themselves. Bindweed, brambles and stinging nettles my biggest enemy. They are weaker than when I first started on them, but still far too enthusiastic for my liking!

Table for 34 just booked for a lunchtime meal, add that to 2 x 16, 1 x 25 and 1 x 13 (surely that's bad luck) and you can see I am going to be a bit busy for gardening.

Charlie on the shortlist for the school we want him to go to, good news, but a little bit too tantalising, so close and yet so far....

I have plans for my garden, a blue patch, a hot bed to be extended and a white patch to be whiter..... probably all in my dreams but nice thoughts and images passing thru my head.

Reading back (in haste) I noticed @Obelixx hasn't been on, is all ok there?

@Hostafan1, I am sending you a special hug. Feel for you.

Must sleep, hugs to all. xxx

@D0rdogne_Damsel I was just thinking about @Obelixx as well. She was going to have her knee op, but I thought that was to be in July?

@D0rdogne_Damsel and @floralies, Obelixx has decided not to post on Forkers.

Evening all, thanks for the good wishes.  A different plumber from the one scheduled came at 9:20 am. Didn't take him long to fix it, he's put an isolation valve in the correct place now,  so if anything like this happens again at least we can isolate it but keep the rest if the water on.
At least it meant we cold get to the twins for their birthday celebrations.

That's good news @Allotment Boy. Our plumber also put an isolation valve in when he mended the en-suite loo cistern/flush button. Told us previous plumbers who installed it should have done it.

I've just had a narrow escape. This afternoon I drove in two thick steel stakes to tie the arbour to (high winds causing problems) but completely forgot about the armoured mains electrical cable somewhere underneath which runs down to the garage - oops!!
Can't remember if the regs say it's got to be 2ft down or 3ft - anybody know?  I think I need to get a waterproof warning sign up to remind me and other people. Not sure where from though.
