Morning all. Ā Another cold morning here - no surprise. Our son returned home this morning. He has work early tomorrow. It was good to see him for a change. Ā

Pixel spent last night with him, but when she tried to move to the side with the electric blanket she got moved. šŸ™„ He obviously doesn’t realise that we allow those close snuggles.😁😁

    Good morning all 😊 ā˜•ļøĀ
A fairly bright and dry morning … but the soil is still soft after the rain … OH is going to help me in my battle with the Geum urbanum 😔

    Great photo @Pat E 😊

It seems that politics is changing in many places and perhaps not before time  … it’ll be interesting to see what happens next and whether the old structures and powerbases are able or even willing to adapt or whether revolution of one sort or another (hopefully ā€˜soft’) is on the cards …

HiDove. Good luck with the Geum. Ā I think I’ve lost mine. Haven’t seen it for some time. That garden bed is above the house and I haven’t weeded there for ages. 🤭

We have lovely geums that we’ve planted @Pat E … but the problem is the flippin’ Geum urbanum which is a pernicious weed … and it’s hard to tell them apart until they flower … so we have to dug them out before the blighters set seed 😔

It's this one @Pat EĀ https://www.invasiveplantatlas.org/subject.html?sub=11973Ā  also known as Wood AvensĀ

Not a problem on the scale of Japanese Knotweed or Equisetum etc, but still a nuisance, especially because until it flowers it looks very like its more desirable cousins, especially Water Avens, which is much prettier and grows around our pondĀ
