    Very exciting @chicky, have a great time.

    It suddenly hammered down here at 9pm, the gutters couldn't cope and water was cascading over everywhere. It will at least wash yesterday's muck off my poor plants next to the paving.

    Had a rather mixed day. The fencing chaps arrived at 9.30 am to give me a quote to replace one rotten fence post in the drive and replace the trashed panel with my spare one - £150 labour plus materials. Ouch and double ouch. I do know that wood, building supplies  and fuel have gone up a lot in price and are in short supply so eventually we said okay.
    It then turned out that the existing posts were an odd size and although they phoned several local suppliers, none had the size we needed. Cue much scratching of head until they phoned a local sawmills who could do one cut to size. That needed a 40 mile round trip to collect it so another £20 for their diesel costs. The job was finally completed mid afternoon. I'm still not sure whether this was a reasonable cost or not. While they were gone I nipped out to a nearby building suppliers to get some Fastfix to redo the mortar in the paving. That had gone up by £5 since last Friday when I last checked. This gardening lark is an expensive hobby and we haven't even had the plumbers bill yet!

    Sorry you're so poorly @Punkdoc, hope you get better soon.

    Truly grim day, been in bed for most of it.
    I expect tomorrows plans will be cancelled, but I am promised a sausage sandwich for breakfast.
    Sorry you’ve been feeling so rubbish @punkdoc … I hope the worst is over now and that a sausage sandwich and a few more hot toddies will be the restorative you need so you can have an enjoyable birthday tomorrow 🤗

    @chicky … how exciting … and how lovely 😊
