many happy returns @punkdoc - if it's difficult to enjoy it today, hopefully next year you'll be much happier.
Colder here today. Was feeling rough yesterday and spent it on the sofa, so need to get my act together and get those doors on the GH this afternoon before the breeze picks up tomorrow.

Well sort of a the aphid syndrome has struck th neighbourhood!!
It's a cooler ay with some spots of rain, sun and humidity.
@punkdoc Many Happy Returns of the Day. Bed isn't such a bad place to spend it, but not if you are feeling so bad.
@Allotment Boy My husband died and was buried during spring break. I was back at school on the Monday - everyone (even though they came to the funeral) said their condolences and we all got on with the job. Best thing for me personally. Life goes on but we don't forget. Offer your condolences and listen if he wants to talk. Otherwise, a normal work day. Hope this helps.
@floralies Good luck with the German although I am surprised there were no other "main" languages such as Spanish or French.
Nature can be fickle. I had sowed some cucumber seeds a while back and only half germinated. I put the un-germinated pots aside to see if they would get going later. After a few weeks I gave up and used their contents to mulch a grapevine in a bigger pot. Of course they then sprouted and I had to retrieve them and pot them up too. At least I have some room in the greenhouse for them having decided to not bother with tomatoes after last year's blight disaster.
Hope you can get your mosquito door fixed @floralies. I find that even if instructions are in English the print is so tiny and the translation from the Chinese so bad that they are generally worse than useless. More fun to simply look at all the bits and apply logic! Don't worry about what to say @Allotment Boy. Just a kind word or two and get on with what you and D were doing. You will understand if he needs to leave early, or to be by himself for a while. I can't bear AT - so smug. Loved the Queen's shrug after his 'beating heart of the nation' statement! Happy birthday to @punkdoc - so sorry you can't enjoy it as much as you should. Next year... V. showery here today but the sun is shining now. Felt tired yesterday and again today - think it's all catching up with me. Will put my feet up this afternoon and watch Chelsea - and look out for @chicky's garden!
I think we may have to put the instructions through translate as it looks quite complicated with putting the mesh in the aluminium @tui34 and @didyw otherwise i can see a great disagreement looming!
Afternoon all, Had some very heavy showers today and it looks like another one is looming judging by the grey clouds. No gardening for me today as it was Art this morning and the eye hospital with Hubby this afternoon. He has mild glaucoma in one eye and has some drops he needs to use. Sorry you are still feeling rough @punkdoc celebrate next week instead. @Hostafan1 had to laugh when I read your Chelsea list I was thinking of the football team and wondered what was going on.
Afternoon all, belated happy birthday to @Punkdoc, hope you feel better tomorrow.
I feel rather worn out today, I finished off the cleaning of the paving, did the front terrace, steps and path. Thank goodness that's finished. Just the mortaring to do now, another big job. I'm a bit confused about the instructions on how to do it, anybody used Sitka Fastfix before? I understood you just brushed it onto wet paving and the unused stuff would keep for some time, but the instructions say, once opened, it's all got to be used up within an hour. That's not doable with the amount I've got to do. It also says the gaps between the stones have to be compacted as well, oh dear, I thought it was going to be easier than that.
I was in dire need of the lovely back massage I had this afternoon, had a good snooze on the recliner.
Looking forward to Chelsea tonight. Was really pleased the Queen made it yesterday and loved the posh golf buggy driven by her chaffeur.
It seems that she’s able to do a lot of the events that are on the flat ie the equivalent of wheelchair-accessible. My guess is that her hips and knees are finding steps difficult … and old places like the Palace of Westminster are full of steps.
