Glad you got your jeans @Busy-Lizzie.Ā  Lovely sandals @Lizzie27!Ā  Ā Mini Victoria sponges sound lovely @D0rdogne_Damsel - and I'm sure your garden will be lovely.Ā Ā

What a scare @Pat E!Ā  But if it helps her cut the ciggies, that would be good.Ā  She could try weaning off with some kind of vape device.Ā  I have to confess - I am still addicted to nicotine.Ā  I gave up smoking 20 years ago but simply moved over to nicotine lozenges.Ā  That is my guilty secret.Ā Ā

We were told it wasclikely that Ma’s macular degeneration was caused by living in a smoky atmosphere ā€˜cos Pa smoked.Ā

Hope all improves for those with worries. Well done to all the ex smokers. My dad was a smoker since he was 14, got lung cancer and died at 49. Left an unfillable gap in my life and I still miss him.Ā
Lovely sandals and toenails! M and S have been very disappointing for years now. Dresses all too short, and out of proportion ( that might be me, though! ) Oh for the days when I would pop into Per Una and have to ration myself. I do buy their cord trousers, but the straight cut leg have been getting narrower every year, and it’s anyones guess what length ā€˜regular’ will turn out to be.Ā

It's not just you ladies with M&S, I used to buy trousers for work there, still have a Jacket, (didn't buy suits cos the trousers always wore out firstĀ  ). Anyway IĀ  used to be able to go in and pick up 1/2 lined smart trousers, off the rack knew they would fit perfectly.Ā  As soon as they gave up on UK manufacturing, I started to find the sizes all wrong. My previously standard size became small , leg length became short (30 ins really!) The half lining disappeared and the prices went up.Ā

I get the M&S straight leg jeans online and find they fit just fine … what that says about me or them I’m not sure … but they had room for a fish & chip lunch on the pier šŸ½ now for ice cream at the harbour mouth šŸ¦Ā

Afternoon all, it's raining again much to my disappointment. Thought I'd be good this morning and do the housework first (it was sunny). Then we had lunch and just as I was getting ready to garden, noticed it was wet. Oh well, it will rest my bones.
Plumber's arrived to mend the en-suite loo flush, very good of him to fit us in before the weekend. His name is Phelim, an Irish name I'd never heard of before, apparently pronounced 'Flim'.

I was hopping mad yesterday, looked at the window and saw a squirrel calmly eating my rosebuds in front of me! Grrr!

That was a nasty shock @Pat E, hope your daughter will be okay. I'm glad to say I've never smoked, nor does OH or my children, although I suspect they probably did when young.

    Enjoy your icecream Dove.

Ā Pity about your specs @Hostafan1.

Thanks everyone. I’m trying to be positive about it. Ā It’ll be better when she has had all the tests and scans, so that we know what the full situation is. I must admit I’ve had some quiet moments today though, remembering her when she was a littly etc. she was always a beautiful little girl and she has been a very good Mum to her son. No complaints.Ā

    Anyway, night all.
