Morning all. It's a lovely sunny one here and a few wet things are flapping on the line.

Off to see a friend shortly and then this afternoon I'm going to plant out 2 clematis plants and give all the recent plantings a good water. They've all been heavily mulched and I'm hoping that another deep water on Tuesday will see them ok left unattended for  a couple of weeks.

See we have another Inspector Grace on Sunday. I love the Peter James books  and thoroughly enjoyed last week's episode (better than the first trial last year IMO). I wonder how many episodes they'll do?

Hello all ... hope everyone had a restful night ...  it's a glorious morning here, full of birdsong and fluttering wings ... hanging the washing out was lovely with real warmth from the sun on the side of my face, despite there being a frost here first thing.  My OH is being a hero and has his head in the oven wiping off the OvenMate that was working overnight ... I've a feeling his neck will need a massage later on.
I've done the watering of pots and seedlings ... do you think cussing the sweetcorn will trigger germination, or should I just be thankful that without it my teeth will be happier and we'll have more room for the squashes which have 100% germination  :o

Aww, thank you so much @Ladybird4
Will have to look for the bottom yellow one! It's called Nanna! 😁
They are all very pretty, next time I'm at the GC will have a good search.
Lovely and sunny here, have wet cloth things on the whirly gig.
Going to read a book this afternoon.
@Songbird-1 hope you had a good nights sleep and feel more like you again. Hope you can sit out on your new bench today.
@Chivetalking hope you don't have to wait too long before you hear about mums scans. Keeping everything crossed for you.
Glad the antibiotics are working for OH @Rubee take care.
I've recorded Grace @Topbird must start watching that.
    Have a lovely day everyone.

    Hello all.

Lovely looking plants LB. I have two of those.

We've seen the first Grace, looking forward to the second. I like his books, I'm reading one at the moment that I bought in the Oxfam shop but it isn't a Grace one.

We are having 2 couples of friends for dinner on Tuesday so we went to the SM and did the shopping. Worried that as it's a bank holiday weekend they may not have everything I need on Monday or Tuesday.

It's a lovely day, nearly dry things are hanging on the line.

Good afternoon everyone. I have been pottering in the garden again but first of all, Hazel, I filled a trough with 4 of my new alpines and I tucked some of this year's species crocuses in the trough too to die back and hopefully give another lovely display next Spring.

I rescued a baby toad from the garage today too. I did not fancy its chances in a dry, dusty environment so I released it amongst the astilbes in the damp garden. It soon crawled away. I always seem to come across toads sooner or later in the garden. They hibernate in the rockery or in the GH.
T'Bird, I reckon the clemmies will be fine whilst you are away after two good soakings. 13% chance of rain here tonight and its certainly looking overcast enough for a shower.
Hazel, I think you and your OH deserve a rest after all of your efforts. Are you planning a new trip to your Mum's?
Chive, I hope that your Mum hears soon about her scan. It must be uncomfortable for her and she was doing so well too.
Ruby, its good to hear that your OH's antibiotics are slowly working - baby steps eh?
T'Bird, I am a Grace fan too. I had seen the first episode last year so looked forward to seeing episode two. Wouldn't you just know that my recording stopped just before the end! Luckily I was able to 'catch up' for the last 10 crucial minutes. They certainly keep you on the edge of your seat and I like John Simm in that role. No spoilers for you SGL.
Glad to hear that your shopping trip was successful Busy. What will you be making for your meal? Sorry, bit nosey that!

Not nosey LB. I didn't say in case it didn't interest anyone. A rick Stein recipe to start, should be crab but it will be big prawns in curry mayonnaise on a bed of peeled tomatoes with a small herby salad. Chicken and leek pie with broccoli, fancied beans but they looked manky, a Mary Berry lemon curd mousse sandwiched with mango purée served in glasses.

Busy, that sounds absolutely yummy - a veritable feast. I am very envious of your friends. Broccoli is one of my favourite vegetables too.

Aww, @Busy-Lizzie is there room for a little one, that sounds delicious 😋😋
@Ladybird4 your plants look lovely in the trough. Thank you again for posting all the pots earlier.
@Songbird-1 hope you get to see your mum soon and can persuade her to have little ride out in the car.
Sorry @Chivetalking didn't answer you about the Poppets.....well I did in my head, but forgot to actually type it 😂 Yes we will see them all, they are coming round tomorrow. I have a sneaky feeling the weather isn't going to be as good though🤦‍♀️ It turned out beautiful today and really warm.

Better get a wriggle on and sort something out for tea. Have a lovely evening everyone.
