Good morning all. Bit fed up with this weather don’t think greenhouse will go up this weekend but trying to be philosophical about it. First world problem. The rain has at least done the garden good and topped up the water features. Also fiancé has had a lazy ish day. Hoping to at least get the base sorted today and I have a wall to paint.
Dry here at the moment so need to get up and get started before it gets wet again.
Hope you all enjoy your Bank Holiday.
  • Good morning all. Just enjoying some tea, not yet dressed.  LB enjoy your visit with handy brother.  I hope everyone has a good day. Time to get ready.

    Morning everyone.
It looks rather grey and chilly this morning. Hope it warms up a bit, I'd like to get out in the garden today.
Thank you @Ladybird4 it was a lovely day altogether. 😍 Have fun at handy brothers, safe journey.
@bluebellsintherain glad you've found your watch. Aww and a new dress too. 👗
@debs64 hope you get to play in your garden. 🤞 the greenhouse can be built soon.
@Rubee good to hear you slept well. I did too, but rather heavily and feel a bit muzzy at the moment.
Need a cup of tea ☕

    Morning all🙂
Making a start on packing the van today - wonder if it will all go in. Not been to Germany in such a tiny vehicle before and I'm missing the freedom of the space of our big m/home already!
Rosie - so pleased to hear you found your watch. I hate losing anything which has sentimental attachments. Your dress was a good buy!
Sounds as though everyone is busy with their gardens at the moment.
LB - I shall certainly be watering all the new plantings today (there are a lot of them following the rejigging of the ex-box edged borders). I know some of you had a good soaking yesterday but we had about 20 drops - not even enough to wet the car bonnet😬

On the plus side the grass is no longer growing as quickly as it was...

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

    Morning all,

4 hours into my working week and can't say I'm thrilled :(

I did manage to do a bit in the garden yesterday but unlikely to do much more this week. Hopefully, Mother Nature will take care of the watering at least. I have been given a Hosta, so I split that and planted temporarily in pots/tubs. Lots of other plants are starting to look good but will be wanting to get into the ground sooner rather than later. Seedlings to prick out as well. Flaming work getting in the way of the important stuff :o

    Morning all.

Sounds a lovely day with the poppets and family, SG Lily.

I hope you have a good time with 23, Hazel.

What a relief to find your watch Rosie. That dress sounds a bargain. I like to wear dresses in the summer. Last summer was hardly warm enough though.

A man just rang the bell. His daughter is on the green over the road selling cakes for their Scouts trip next year. I bought some cakes. Couldn't resist eating one, coffee walnut cup cake, really good. Have Brownies and Tiffin as well.

We are going to the cinema this afternoon to see Downton Abbey.

Good afternoon everyone. Mission accomplished this morning. Water butt and rose delivered to handy brother's. His new shed is a beast! I give him a month until he has it full of 'stuff'. I did notice they he had a mattock so he will be able to wield that when necessary. Just Joey looks quite happy now in the border and I had paeony envy as he has a gorgeous one about to burst into flower.
It has been overcast all day today but a good deal warmer than yesterday.
Hazel, youngsters come out with the funniest of things don't they? 23 has obviously had some serious thought processes going on to come up with that reasoning.
T'Bird, getting elephants into matchboxes was one of my Dad's skills. I never failed to be impressed with his packing.
Biglad, I feel your pain. Once the garden starts springing back to life after its Winter coma it is so difficult to resist the temptation to be out there. Hope you have managed to get a bit more done today.
Gosh Busy, what a nice knock on the door that proved to be with some delicious cakes raising money for a good cause. Hope you have enjoyed the film.

  • I’ve been pottering and I’ve put a jumper on, rather cold out.  I hope everyone’s keeping warm and wrapped up today as feels autumnal here, although apparently temperatures set to rise.  Top bird I do hope you get a downpour we must have had the driest of Aprils.  Hazel it will be lovely for you to use the picnic table with 23.  Lily it’s good you had a stroll yesterday to the duck pond.  I always find such visits relaxing.  It’s good to be with nature.  LB I hope you had a good journey.  Debs enjoy gardening with your fiancé.  Busy the cake sounds nice, enjoy the film.

Phew, what a weekend.  I don't think my feet touched the ground.  Saturday was spent baking Jonah's birthday cake

On Sunday it was his party with 30+ children plus bouncy slide and castle. Straight after that we drove to Shrewsbury for my niece's retirement party which went on until midnight.  We stayed overnight and then went to niece's house for coffee and to say goodbye before driving home.  I'm on the sofa now completely shattered.  I'm getting too old for all this gadding about.
    Hope everyone is OK.
