Good afternoon everyone. How was your trip to the GC SGL? Mine was successful, I got the alpine compost and the horticultural grit I was after. It felt like my car was doing a wheelie on the way home with all that weight in the boot. It has been cool and overcast all day here. Bestie's side of the hill was hot so I was a bit disappointed I couldn't feel comfortable in the garden but I was busy indoors too.
Glad you enjoyed the Downton Abbey film Busy but what a rude awakening you got. I hope that the roof is now repaired and watertight. I have been thinking about all those lovely delights you have been making for your friends.
Yvie, I hope that your firstborn gets through the covid with no ill effects and that you remain negative.

They seem to be OK this time LB.  The first time they had it she ended up with pneumonia and he ended up in hospital.

    Good afternoon my friends.

After yesterday's storm, rain and hail, today is beautiful sunny and warm. I don't feel quite well, maybe spring tiredness. Very good news is that my sweet potatoes seedlings arrived this morning. They look very well, and I'm satisfied. If weather permits, I'll go to cottage at thursday and plant them out.
I didn't read back, so must catch up with everything what's happened yesterday. I'll do it with cup of tea.

So sorry to hear 1st born and OH have Covid @Yviestevie hope you stay negative. Take care.
@Topbird hope you have a lovely holiday. Safe journey.
@Busy-Lizzie glad you enjoyed Downton, looking forward to getting the DVD. Have a lovely evening with your friends.
So sorry your feeling poorly @Ante1 hope you feel better soon.
@Ladybird4 I had a successful time at the GC too. I got a couple of succulent plants, a pretty alpine with white flowers......didn't have a label so don't know the name. A Heuchera and a Dianthus Memories. I did look for a couple of the plants you posted pics of LB, but they didn't have any of them 😢
Have put the alpine and the two succulents in a 'bowl' shaped pot. Just need to find the grit  (I'm Sure it's in the shed) to put on top.

Might need to move the succulents slightly before topping with grit.
  • LB enjoy your visit to the gc, good idea with the pot exchange.  Yvie wishing your family a good recovery.  Top bird you’ll both be getting excited now before you set off.  Very sensible not to over pack, how about plasters, germoline, etc.  although you being a seasoned packer I’m sure you’ll have everything.  Happy holidays for both of you.  Hazel and Lily it will be lovely to wear some summery clothes, apparently 17 degrees tomorrow hopefully.  Busy I’m glad you enjoyed the film I will look fwd to seeing it.  Enjoy your dinner party, have fun. Lily glad you had successful time at the garden centre.  Ante you’ve had a busy time and done well.  Relax and feet up tonight.  I cooked tea in air cooker 13 mins all in but very small cooking space, you’d need to get a larger one on reflection but I’m very happy with it.  Separates any fat with lift away slightly raised plate, easy to clean, easy to use, timings And temp can be amended part way through if necessary, shake your chips but other foods can be left throughout, a good purchase.  Enjoy your evening.

I remember you telling us Yvie, about your firstborn and her OH. Fingers crossed they are fine.
Ante, I am so sorry to hear that you are not feeling too well. Hope that you haven't been doing too much. Its good to hear that you are pleased with your sweet potato seedlings. Feet up and have a rest tonight.
SGL, I love your purchases and isn't that alpine a pretty little thing?
RosieBB, I was quiote interested in reading about your air cooker as my Bestie has been thinking about getting one and I'll tip her off about maybe going for a bigger one.
