Good morning all. Very productive day yesterday the frame is nearly completed got to do door and window and glazing today. It’s looking good!
Painted wall white not an easy task and it needs another coat but I love how it looks. Patio seems much brighter.
You have all had a very busy bank holiday. Hope you can relax today.

Good morning Debs, How exciting to get more done on your greenhouse than you thought first thing. I bet you are champing at the bit (Ante = impatient) to get it finished now. I'll bet Graham will enjoy basking in the heat when its all finished.

Hello all … hope everyone had a restful night … I’m trying to catch up on here, reading all your family goings on … we’ve been busy trying to get ahead so we can go to MILs again later in the week and have another stab at celebrating her birthday now that she’s tested Negative 👍

I’ve been potting on the toms etc and getting shouted at by the robins as they think my potting area is too close to their nest. I keep coming indoors so they can feed the nestlings.

I’ve got the squashes, courgettes and cucumbers to pot on today, but the locksmith is coming this morning to fit the new permanent lock now that it’s arrived … it’s been sitting on the docks in Europe for a while … he was going to come yesterday but it appears that his wife told him it was a bank holiday and she had made plans … he phoned and apologised and asked if he could put it off until today … it made no difference to us so that’s fine … but we smiled at the imagined scene at their breakfast table yesterday 😂

Then yesterday afternoon we had an unexpected flying visit from son who was in Norwich for work so popped in 😎 and we were able to admire his new car 🚘

Now I’d better get up and move all the plants away from the window in the studio in case the locksmith comes early …

    Enjoy the day folks …

  • Good morning LB, Dove, Debs and all.  LB you’ll have some lovely memories of your mum and dad and time in Malta.  Dove it’s good you can visit mil again and she’s now tested negative.  Debs good progress made.  I have an appointment this morning and have been up quite a while.   Apparently according to the forecast temps up today but overall feels rather cold.

Morning everyone, Bit overcast this morning. Must have been very cold during the night as the heating came on for awhile.
Forecast is warmer weather by the end of the week 🤞🤞
@debs64 glad you have almost got the greenhouse house built. You will be able to play with all your new plants in there very soon 😊  The new painted wall will look lovely against plants and blooms.
@Ladybird4 my sort of selfie 😉🌸🌼
@bluebellsintherain hope all goes well with appointment.
@Dovefromabove good news that you can visit MIL soon.
Must get a wriggle on, I think I might pop to a GC for a mooch this morning.
    Have a good day everyone

Good morning Dove, Ruby, RosieBB and SGL. Happy to hear you will be able to visit your MIL soon Dove and how nice your son came by to show off his new car.
Ruby, you will be in the garden tpoday for sure. Its raining here - that awful drizzly stuff again but I will dodge the showers.
RosieBB, good luck with your appointment this morning. Wrap up well when you go out.
SGL, I'm off to the GC this morning, taking a huge number of empty plant pots with me as this particular GC has a giant container where customers can get rid of unwanted pots - and pick up any they may want. I need some more alpine grit to mix in with my peat free compost. I prefer mixing up my own stuff - adding perlite or vermiculite as well to make it more free draining.

    Morning all.

You've had a busy weekend @Yviestevie. That's a beautiful birthday cake, lucky boy!

We enjoyed Downton Abbey at the cinema very much. I laughed and cried. The cinema has blissfully comfortable seats.

Two men turned up this morning, when we were still having coffee in bed, to repair the hole in the roof. They had sent an estimate but no appointment. Lots of banging going on.

Tonight 4 friends are coming to dinner. I must get a move on. Need to find another place that isn't the dining room table for my laptop and papers and must start to prepare food.

Morning all. The van is about packed and ready to go - just a bit of food to put in the fridge. We're no longer allowed to take meat and dairy products so there's not much to go in. We've both been quite ruthless with our packing and we have lots of space left. Might see if I'm allowed to take my paints... Ferry leaves from Harwich at 11pm so we have all day to trim the grass, water the plantings etc etc.

LB - loved your phrase about your father. Elephants into matchboxes is exactly what we've done🤣

Dove - good to hear MIL is fully recovered. The vaccination programme and natural mutation has done a good job of putting Covid in its place.

BL - glad you enjoyed the film. We saw the trailer when we went to the cinema the other week. I definitely fancy watching it and have fingers crossed it might either be on the boat coming back from NL or on the aeroplane when we fly to Canada in a few weeks. Didn't see any other films we fancied - there's some right tosh out there!

Must get on with some jobs now - SYL!

Afternoon folks,  Had a message from Firstborn to say that she, and her hubby, have both tested positive for Covid.  She said she had a bit of a cold starting the morning after the party but thought she had caught Merri's cold (she had tested negative).  I should have been picking up the boys this afternoon but I'm staying away.  Will test tomorrow.  At the moment I feel fine.  I have been to Art this morning so hope I'm OK.
