It's finally Friday. Whole day was sunny and almost hot on the sun. Tomorrow will be quite hard day at cottage, so I was just relaxing after school. Now I'll continue with this activity, only with one addition, G&T. Wish you all a nice evening and enjoy watching GW.
Good evening everyone. I have had an interesting day today. Bestie and I went to a local GC and spent a happy time in the sunshine admiring all the beautiful plants. Whilst mooching I received a phone call from the emergency responders for Jack. I am his second ICE contact. An alert had been triggered and the lady I spoke with wondered if there may have been a power cut. As it happens North West Electricity had arrived in the Cres, yesterday and proceeded to dig a hole in the road. I've no idea what is going on. Once I relayed this to the lady she seemed more at ease. I rang Jack once I got home and he was fine. There had been a power cut as the clock on my cooker was blinking zeroes at me. He needs an ordinary phone that does not need plugging in to an electrical socket so that at least he will have contact with the outside world. I did come back with a few alpine plants that were on special offer.

Aww, they are pretty @Ladybird4 can you take a pic so we can read the labels please. So glad Jack is ok. That must have been worrying for you. Naughty Alfie 🐾🐾 @bluebellsintherain hope it's not too bad. @Songbird-1 hope you get a good night's sleep after all your hard work in the garden. Would love to see a pic of your Arbour
LB - glad Jack is ok. Did you tell us how old he is? I've forgotten. I'm sure both he and his family are grateful that you are so close by. Alpines look lovely. Have to choose my spot for those as so much of my garden is heavy boulder clay. Weirdly there are other bits with poor, well drained 'hungry' soil. Alpines do ok there. Fed up already with our current mini-drought. It made the local news last night because this is farmers' country and they have been irrigating fields for a few weeks and river levels are already very low. That doesn't sound right for April! In such a small country you'd think it would be a relatively straightforward task to redistribute water from the NW to the SE - it's not that far! Rosie BB - that Alfie is a naughty little minx. Gotta love 'em tho'🥰
Lots more jobs ticked off today. Hoping for an easier day tomorrow.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
T'Bird, Jack is 90. He's just had his first cataract operation and he's thrilled to bits at the improvement in his vision, bless him. I agree with you about the water situation too. As you said, it can't be beyond the bounds of modern engineering to pipe water from the north to the crop growing areas which tend to suffer more from drought than we do.
I am signing out for tonight and planning already what I wish to do tomorrow in the garden. Nighty night all. Sweet dreams.
