Morning from a 'can't quite make up its mind' Wales. As long as it doesn't rain, as we have lots of little outside jobs to do today. What a very kind friend, @Hostafan1 The floods in Australia look terrifying @Pat E. My friend in Melbourne was just commenting on the Brisbane situation. Note to self: do not waste the day by procaffeinating!
Glad you could make the trip @Hostafan1 A good friend is a precious thing. Not everyone would lend something such as their car.
Cool mornings here and even though it is sunny, there is a cold wind. I pruned my 2 clematis this morning - right back - lots of green shoots half way up - golly! I hope I have done the right thing!!
The flooding in Queensland reminds me of our third flatmate from the London days in the 70s. She died not long ago at 75. She was a Brisbane lass!!
I have braised some kidneys and will puree some sweet potato. With some runner beans and a salad that should do the trick for Sunday lunch. No pudding - we're trying to cut out (guffaw guffaw!!) An orange for dessert and then coffee and some chocolate!! (Did I say that?)
There are so many things to do in the garden now. Tiny weeds coming up in the cracked tiles. Tiny weeds coming up in the garden not to mention the big ones, but it is soooo dry that getting a trowel in - even a spade is impossible. I can spray the gravel and tiles but will have to wait for a windless day. Some red oak leaf lettuces have sprung up (who says lettuces need water to germinate?) as are my peas and broad beans so I am now watering about once a day. Daffs and primroses have surfaced and freesias about to flower. Spring is just around the corner!!!
Morning all. 27th February today! Already! January went on for weeks and weeks and weeks and here we are at the end of February already. Can't believe it. It will be getting really busy from now.
hi to those of you who have mentioned the floods. Our tv is full of photos of enormous amounts of water rushing down rivers and overflowing dams. Our family up there insist they are ok. No good worrying I suppose, but it’s not easy when you’re bombarded with news photos. 🙄
we are being distracted by an archaeological program about Atilla and Rome and related stuff. It’s of interest because we both studied Prehistory etc at Uni.
Hello all, I can't seem to get going at all. Cloudy today but at least the cold wind has dropped. You are all so busy, I am writing this with neighbour's cat on my lap. They are away for the WE we have a strange arrangement that the other elderly neighbour feeds him (because he loves cats) and we look after anything else! He came in yesterday with a bloodied ear, which I have cleaned with normal saline - i presume this is ok for cats @Obelixx? Anyway they are back tomorrow so can sort it! Enjoy your day everyone be it weeding, sowing, pruning or just taking it easy.

A lovely Spring day , if a wee bit chilly for my liking.
