What a nuisance with the vehicle, @Hostafan1. Hope you and hubby will cope without each other till you get your transport sorted. Horrid to be reliant on machinery that lets you down.

Morning all. I was busy yesterday so didn't get the chance to read the thread and there are more posts today so I shall have to pass on them but hope that all have a good weekend. I have some planting to do, a mixed pleasure but my own fault for buying things.

  • Morning everyone,  bright frosty start here too. Waiting for plumber to come he's supposed to be here now. We have to chage the kitchen tap, in spite of changing valves o rings etc in some cases several times it's leaking from the tap lever. Nothing for it but to replace.

  • Morning.
I hope your transport woes are soon behind you @Hostafan1.We rely on the darned things so much.
How lovely to hear that spring is around the corner in France. We were talking yesterday of opening the summer house again - it will be a welcome tonic when we do.
The district nurse is nice and early today. I normally do Wordle when they're here, but I'm not ready to get my head round that just yet.

Another bright, sunny and frosty morning here but I've been awake half the night with a throbbing knee and now have a headache and wobbly tum.  Lovely.

It's very breezy too so I'm staying indoors out of the draughts.  So far all I've done is cook up some mixed grain rice with thyme for the chooks.  It's a good way to hide their tonic with extra vitamins.

Do you have a good car doc @Hostafan1?  Hope you get him fixed soon.

Hope your plumber turns up @Allotment Boy.   Good ones are a treasure.

I shall have to pressure was our terrace soon @D0rdogne Damsel.  Lovely messy job but it'll have to wait for the last of the painting to be done.  I have bits of radiator cover laid out for final coat before assembly and 2 doors needing a top coat.

Hope everyone gets a bit of sun today.

    Morning all.

We've been to the monthly farmers' market in the village hall. We'd arranged to meet friends in the next door village there and have a coffee and a chat, arranged with the husband. When we arrived they were about to leave and the wife said they were off to do the weekly shop. I wonder if he had told her what he had arranged. We never do the weekly shop at weekends because it's the time that younger working people do it. We are retired so can choose any other day.

I hope Worzle is better very soon.

    Greetings to you all!

Sunny here too - cold morning with 4°C.  No wind this morning, so went for a bike ride but now the wind has come up.  Still sunny and warm in the sheltered spots.  End of February and spring is definitely around the corner.  Still itching to sow my veggie seeds but am holding back!!  Too early in this neck of the woods.

Too many people walking along the beach and the beach promenade this afternoon for me.  Would rather not be walking with a Border Collie straining on the leash in either situation.  So maybe some tidying up i.e. weeding in between tiles (so finikity) and a walk in the fields behind us.....finishng with a cup of tea and some of @Dovefromabove 's Victoria Sandwich!!  Any left?  Hmmm

I hope you all have a pleasant afternoon in the sunshine - just enough to perk up the people that are feeling a little "under the weather".

You have done an amazing job here @D0rdogne_Damsel with your baking - answered the brief perfectly!
Oh poor Worzle!  And now its the weekend of course.  Things always go wrong at weekends @Hostafan1.

Nice sunny day outside but I have computer work to do.  But got my photinia upright again and the trellis that carried my clematis Polish Spirit back up.  Pruning of said clematis largely done for me!

Got a call from Radio Suffolk yesterday - they want to interview me on Monday about a project I have been involved with here.  8am!  But at least I won't have to be dressed! (I'm not like other Forkers who have the floors polished and a cake in the oven by then).  Emailed the rest of the team with the good news on getting more publicity for the project.  But got a very snippy response from the town councillor who tries to undermine me/the business association I represent at every turn - he's jealous that he wasn't asked I can tell!  This is a different councillor from the district councillor who is also snippy with me (and those councillors have no time for each other!) but I did get a 'well done' email from her a couple of days ago on another project!

Don't be fooled @didyw ... it's just I'm a morning person ... if it doesn't get done early it gets left until next day/week/month ...... or never  ;)
