The sofa's all brushed and plumped up, OH has shaken the rugs, I've buffed the parquet ... still time for flolloping on the sofa @janetfoss ... or will you be travelling into the wind? Might take you a while ... mind you, I think it's downhill all the way from you to us ...

I'm taking my cheesed offness out on the cleaning. Started the spring cleaning yesterday with the conservatory and now in the sitting room. Grrrr I'll show this ruddy wind, see if I care!
Afternoon everybody, I must confess I slept like a log all night through all the gales, although OH says they were fierce. We've actually had some sunshine and the rain has stopped so I did a tiny bit of weeding whilst walking round the garden checking for damage. All seems okay apart from the damaged fence panel/post by the drive so I've tied more of it to NDN's hedge. I suspect that's what helped to push it over, it's a very tall pyracantha on the west side of our fence so taking full force of the winds. It looks quite festive as I've had to use ribbons to tie it. All the rope/string etc is up in the shed and I didn't fancy walking under the very big Norwegian maple to get there.
Had a bit of a mishap yesterday evening, we were so busy chatting to each other over dinner that we didn't notice that the hot melted wax from the lit church candle (OH thought it would be romantic!) had broken through the lip and was flowing down the candlestick all over the table - cue, panic! Quickly used my napkin to mop the worst up and was then able to carefullly scrape the set wax off the table top with my library card. Amazingly it hasn't marked the table, thank goodness for a good quality varnish. I now have to try to get wax out of my lovely Waterford crystal candlestick somehow without scratching that.
I hate windy conditions, makes me feel very unsettled but I might try and do another half hour or so in the garden just to get out in the house. Noticed this morning that the ornamental quince and cherry trees have started flowering and my beautiful Algerian iris is still going strong.
My OH likes to bake, he was taught by his Grandad when a little boy. Mind you he has a sweet tooth whereas I don't. I think I can manage to get to yours by afternoon tea, @Dovefromabove with a prevailing wind!

“It's still magic even if you know how it's done.”
Looks deceptively lovely out, the wind has dropped and the sun is out. Might venture out once we’ve finished lunch.

Hope everyone and their gardens are staying safe.
