Morning folks, not a bad night. Watched Sir Trevor Phillips, before bed. Been up an hour, dishwasher done, put away, dogs fed. Wet n windy. Porridge,I thought, loved Fairy's trick, put the hot porridge in the bowl, out with the frozen mixed berries. Grandaughter and I much laughter! It was actually frozen spiced red cabbage,"almost" identical dark red bag!
  • Morning @Nanny Beach, I so nearly did exactly the same thing last week.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
22.2.22 …. twenty seven years since OH and I got together 🥰

What have you decided to do with the Nashi pears @Pat E?

I’ve peeled and cored the smallest of them, Dove, and stewed them.  They are currently in a bowl in the fridge. Haven’t devised whether to blend them into a sort of mess which could then be frozen for another time or used in pies or on top of ice cream, etc. The larger ones are edible and rather tempting. Still thinking about next move. 🙄.

The crab apples are SO tart, that there is no chance of them being eaten raw but could be sweetened and used as stewed or as jam.

  • Morning everyone,  after a much brighter start yesterday we are back to dull, grey.  At least the wind has dropped.  I had better go to the plots to check for damage,  won't be able to do much else.
    Congratulations @Dovefromabove.

Good morning all and happy 22022022.

Thank goodness the wind has dropped.

Friends are coming to dinner tonight. They invited OH to meals when I was away. I'm doing a starter with smoked salmon and prawns, then Moroccan lamb, then blackberry and apple pie.

  • Thank you folks ... 27 years and never a cross word ... disagreements yes, but never a raised voice, unkind word or a sulk.  Despite the raised eyebrows in some quarters when we got together it's still blissful  :D  Had to laugh when we bumped into a a professor from our degree course a couple of years ago ... 'Hello you two' she said, 'still together?' ... bless her, she was quite embarrassed when she realised what she'd said ... 'it just came out' she admitted.  🤣

Well done Dove and other half.  We are coming up to 50 years married later this year.

  • Happy Anniversary, Dove.
You two sound perfect together, bless you both.
It's stopped raining, I've just finished some tasks and the rest of the day is mine.
