Seeing 'Kirkcudbright' reminds me of listening to radio Luxembourg many decades ago and the presenter saying that the competition winner lived in Kirk-cud-bright, Kirk-cud-bright-shire in a strong American accent.  Heathen! :D Can't even pronounce place names properly.

:) Then there's Castle Douglas, round here they don't bother to go to the trouble of the full name, it's just C D.

@Allotment Boy we don't have any obvious shortage of sparrows here in Gloucestershire.  Plenty of starlings too.

We have lots of sparrows, and even more dunnocks. I think a lot of the houses in my street have sparrows nesting in the roof - they certainly make quite a racket and you see them about a lot. Which is a reason to be cheerful 🙂

We have discovered a bumblebee nest, it's beside a fence post, in the side passage.  Surprisingly it's in one of the cooler  most shady places, I thought they liked the warmth. Anyway they are flying in and out very happily.

Haven't seen many aphids at all this year . I will happily move on from No Squish Spring to No Squish Summer😊
I just wish the sparrows would take a leaf out of the tits'  book and do the job more quietly, though.😏

Sounds as if your OH is another who deserves one of our awards...

Here is the medal for Shed Builder Extraordinaire 🥇 ... you can present that to him (I'm presuming it's a him, if not my apologies) on our behalf with a bar of choc/bottle of beer or treat of his/her/their choosing. 😉

  • @Dovefromabove, he's tickled pink. Grinning his head off.
@Uff, I am honestly giddy about it. I think OH is actually a bit jealous now cos he's only got the old lean-to for his tools. 🤣
