I think I mentioned previously that the battery on our cordless vacuum failed after about 8 months and the battery was replaced under warranty. A couple of weeks later I had another e-mail saying the replacement was on its way. When the 2nd replacement arrived I e-mailed to let them know what had happened. Today I received a reply saying it was their mistake and I could keep the 2nd battery. Great result as the battery costs £80.
@Fairygirl the company involved is Vax and I have nothing but good things to say about their customer service. We'd only had the machine a couple of weeks when a felt strip on the power head came away at one end. It was only a section about an inch long, and I contacted them to check that it would be OK just to glue it back on and that it wouldn't affect warranty if there was a problem later. They said they would send a new head and for me to keep the old one. The way things are going I will be able to build myself a 2nd vacuum cleaner.
I've had a couple of Vaxs in the past @KT53 . Both were washer/vacuums. The first one was brilliant - especially with young children and pale carpets The 2nd one wasn't quite so good, but I still have it. All hard wood floors in this house though, so not needed so much. I just sorted out the cupboard under the stairs recently, and got the hoses etc out, so I'll make the effort to do the rugs this spring.
A back up machine would certainly be handy, so you'll need to keep mentioning 'problems' while it's still in warranty
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
