Allegra apparently the worst car ever designed. Although I remember hearing that the gearbox in a lada was like stirring a bucket of bricks with a screwdriver ( or something similar)

    The Ambassador wasn’t much better.

Although the back seat was about the size of a small double bed!

My steering wheel has a square ish bottom. Not wooden though….sadly.

It’s only marginally relevant but this conversation has just brought to mind the Unipart advert from the 1970s or ‘80s. The tag line was ‘The answer’s yes. Now, what’s the question?’ A whole string of demands was listed and tucked in the middle was ‘Can you fit a coil to a Princess?’

I don’t know if the stress of the last few days of lessons and the test this morning has taken its toll but I’ve lost the plot with this discussion! 😂😂

What inspired the wooden steering wheel comment and why did you think I was already a driver? Did you think I’d been disqualified? 😮😂🤔

It's me.  there are weird connections in my mind
    "I’m jinxing it now aren’t I? "
touch wood  to nix the jinx- but you're in a car
Wooden steering wheel would serve the purpose
Some wooden steering wheels were rectangular
Allegra had one  - bad car
    Lada- bad car
    Mornington Crescent.

Don't worry @The Green Man.  It's like a conversation in a pub that goes off track and back and forth.  Just go with the flow.  As long as your new/old car is not an Allegra you should be fine.

    Aaaaaaaah!

See I would’ve joined the dots normally.

I perhaps need an early night. 😂

    It’s not. All good.

    To set the record straight:

Never driven a car in my life til I started lessons in December 21.

Instructor told me I was one of the best pupils he’d had in years so I was all ready to get on the road ASAP and booked my test quite quickly. I saw a car 4 weeks ago while I was on my lunch break at work and bought it a week later hoping I would pass today. Thankfully I did otherwise my savings would’ve bought me a very expensive garden ornament!

Or an Oozlum bird Songbird, you know, forever chasing your tail or tale and getting nowhere.

    @TheGreenMan
No I didn't think you'd been disqualified I thought I'd got you wrong in as much as we usually guess a person's age range (online)  by conversation or experience and when you said you'd just passed your test I thought perhaps you might have been a young un. It's not often people have driving lessons and take their test later on in life. You might have been a biker though . . .Mmmm off on another tangent, I blame it on B3.
