I’m organising a village fundraiser for the DEC Ukraine appeal and have been contacting local businesses for raffle donations. I also approached our local MP, Alicia Kearns, to ask if she’d like to contribute. Impishly, I suggested possibly a tin of House of Commons humbugs or even a pork pie.

Well, that did not go down well with Head Office who said Ms Kearns would think I was taking the piss and would ignore me. Far from it. Her PA phoned today to say she’d love to help and that she roared with laughter at the suggestion of the pork pie. Hats off to her for having the confidence to laugh at herself.

I think a lot of people who are Pisces had mothers who thought of the tax relief  they could get in April, once upon a time!  :)

Well, well, happy belated birthday to you for the 8th. I've only ever known one other person to share my birthday but now it's two  :) You aren't by any chance left handed are you KT53

I think if you have 30 people in a room, the odds are better than 50:50 that two of them will share a birthday.

Belated Birthday wishes to Uff and KT53! Hope it wasn’t as wet and dreary as it’s been here.
My RTBC is that I think I’ve finally worked out how to programme my new tumble dryer. The instruction book is an absolute disgrace, and the customer service department seems to answer every query by quoting chunks of the book, despite it being largely unintelligible. However, I waded through pages of on line customer reviews of the machine I have. Quite a few people reported having similar problems until they worked out what the heating level button was actually for. Certainly nothing about that in the instructions, but it’s done the trick. I’m very relieved.

Mr Beach, yes also Piscine, has birthday Monday. Our daughter, bloke and grandkids popping over tomorrow. Said in not doing a roast, they all eat different things, including me,takes hours, huge amount of washing up. Conservatory table is only place to sit and eat, covered in  3 orange trees and now seeds. My RTBC, decided to do stand up buffet, paper plates, have just found  bag of asparagus I froze last year, perfect for the quiche. Also found some french beans and spinach I froze!
