Chillies sowed this morning. Now sitting on top of my tropical fishtank (the seed tray not me). And so it begins .... :)

I finished weeding the 2nd main front bed, lots of lovely blue irises coming up under my orange flowered witchhazel which is just coming into bloom. The plan was that the irises would bloom at the same time, so they'd better hurray up.

OH managed to get the shredder out of the shed without help and has very helpfully shredded all the pruned apple branches for me so he's replenished the bark mulch path.

So glad I don't live in the Peak district, nice though it is in the summer.

Have you got any snow @pansyface? Ours has tailed off this afternoon, so it's just sleety rain with the wind. Snow is so much better  :)

"There is no cut-throat or self-serving rivalry here, just concern at each other’s welfare, happiness at any achievement, and genuine sorrow at every departure. If society modelled itself on The Great Pottery Throw Down, the world would be a much happier place."

    I spoke too soon @pansyface ;)
Big snow, little snow though. It's only lying at a bit more altitude. It's still there [from Friday] up at the windfarm.
All the lower hills round here [the Campsies and some of the Corbetts]  are looking very bonny - when the sky's clear enough to see them. Nice to have a bit of normality for the time of year  :)

  • My RTBC is that there's still enough light in the sky to be outside until nearly 6pm... not that I have been today, since it's raining and blowing a hoolie!  Still, it augurs well...   :)
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Hi Bee witched; we love it too - so beautiful and the weather isn't too bad either ;). Been here three years and five months now. Our neighbours frequently give us lemons so OH makes limoncello whilst I bake lemon drizzle cake, including one for them as a "thank you". If you ever decide to return you are most welcome to visit.
