I did Wordle for the first time yesterday and got it in 4. Thank goodness there’s only one a day 😉

it's just luck though eh Dove? I tend to start with the same word that tries to detect the common letters, then go from there.

Morning, nothing good about it! Blasted rain.  Grandkids got Covid, going to Gatwick for the other test today
Ironically, and thankfully grandson who was shield 3 months 2020 because of his health issues,is asymptomatic! Was watching a documentary about Sidney Poitier last night, said to hubby was he still alive, boy he was good looking, THEN I saw the news. What a great chap, all he managed to get over in his life.RIP and damn well done.

Well … from having done it just the once, yes there’s an element of luck … but also using a bit of common sense/knowledge about the English language and also having a reasonably wide vocabulary so that as you get letters in place you have words to fit the steps. So no, it’s not just luck … but it’s not difficult.

It sounds a bit complicated for my feeble brain but I'll have a go any road up.

    Salutations Forkers!

Bright, sunny and of course the wind to sweep away the clouds.  Shame as I did a load of washing yesterday!!  Maybe I could find something ........

Seems that we need a Wordle Thread thanks to @Chicky.  Thursday's one was a stumper and I did it in 5 but I did yesterday's in 3!!  "Impressive" was the notice!  I have started to watch "Lingo" and see that the game can be downloaded.  (I can't get it here..... luckily).

@Pat E   I can see a fluffy white dog's head in that cloud - the black part being its muzzle.  Ah - we are now Cloud Gazers!  My father was a meteorologist with the RNZAF during WWII and the mets were called Cloud Gazers.

Have a pleasant day everyone in spite of the cold.

Glad Wordle is catching on here too 😀. It certainly seems to be sweeping the country. Just going to give today’s a go.

Then it is an inside day.  Our Garden Club does a NYD flower count and now all the results are in I need to put them all together and write a report.

We have set up the trailcam (my Christmas present) in the garden.  Got our first shots yesterday - a very plump (possibly pregnant?) Billie Badger and a very cute Freddy Fox.  I was thrilled.  Looking forward to getting it in this morning to see what was happening last night whilst we slumbered.  Its like having our very own Springwatch 🤣

    Morning all,

Weather is grim here - could be one of those days where it never quite gets light :o

Can I ask which trailcam you've got @chicky? I'm definitely going to get one but get bogged down in the choice every time I try and make a purchase.

@Biglad GArdeners’ World magazine (the other part of this site) have just done a trial of them https://www.gardenersworld.com/product-guides/nature/best-wildlife-cameras/?utm_source=Adestra&utm_medium=email&utm_content=Snap%2C%20snap&utm_term=3556179&utm_campaign=GW%20Reviews%20January%208%202022_1459821_Gardeners%27%20World_Reviews%20newsletter_1284874

so might be worth a read. We got number 7, the Bushnell core one.  Mr C bought it as a surprise for me, and normally does his homework very thoroughly before parting with his cash 😉. Will see if I can post the badger clip later.
