Many thanks for you continued kindness. I genuinely means a lot to me.
    Hugs all round .
    Happy birthday @raisingirl
    Devon.
  • Happy birthday @raisingirl. I hope Spring brings you happier thoughts.
No point in showing you our clouds - it's just one leaden mass.
Lamb shanks in the slow cooker and I shall put them in with the roasties to crisp up at the end.
We took the dogs into the hills and hub was able to do some gentle ball flinging. They are all trained to retrieve the balls, sit and 'present'  them. He was quite pleased with his (albeit slow) progress today.

Happy birthday @raisingirl.  Enjoy your dinner and give Jenny and extra hug.

We have rain/drizzle.  Not nice and not forecast.  OH has taken our dogs out while I get the pork ready for roasting - otherwise they "help" by getting under my feet.  Rasta terrier will chase and fetch balls and toys - when she feels like it - but her terrier instincts take over and we have to wrestle for the ball.   Bonzo Labrador used to fetch but has now learned from Rasta and doesn't always give back either.

I have some more machine sewing to do a-on a wall hanging I started over 2 years ago and then put aside.  That'll leave me with hand stitching to finish the back of the binding at needlework group tomorrow - after a committee meeting and before mosaic.  Busy day, Monday.

Plenty of rest and patience for all those feeling crook.  @punkdoc, I think you need some sunshine.  Let's hope we all get some soon.

Happy birthday @raisingirl. Glad Jenny is still with you.

My cloud is grey and covering the whole sky.

Jealous of those having lamb shanks, love them but can't be bothered just for me. Having an omelette tonight with bacon, cheese and chopped veg in it. Need to use the eggs before I go to Norfolk on Saturday D. I buy eggs occasionally, don't like them so the white shows. Think I'll make a banana cake with the last 2 bananas. The others were a bit flavourless. I'll put cinnamon and dried fruit in it.

I've finished stacking logs, bagged up the small bits for kindling and swept out the barn. Having tea break, but I made coffee by mistake :/

Afternoon folks, just spent ages reading back, you've all been so chatty.

Hope Dove and DD really do get better soon, both lurgies seem to be hanging around.
Happy Birthday @raisingirl but also sympathies for the loss of your Mum.
That really made me smile @punkdoc and loved your anecdote @Hostafan1, May your hubby continue in good humour.
@Pat E, I think you will have to steel yourself to be really rude to your visitor if she's that thick-skinned, it's the only way she'd understand. Just tell her that you do not want her to visit your property again. Harsh I know but sometimes necessary.

Pale grey velvet curtains sound very swish @Busy-Lizzie, I toyed with the idea of some for our living room but went for duck egg blue in the end.

Thankfully my brother came out of hospital last night and has an appointment fixed for a respiratory clinic - but not until March. He sounded okay but very tired. Apparently had a 2 hr wait to be admitted in the ambulance outside the hospital as all the bays were full.

We had another hard frost this morning then it warmed up with sunshine so I've been gardening. Cut down more box hedging and also cut down lots of couch grass in my Rough Bank so that my crocus 'Tommies' could see the daylight! Lots coming through so should look really good in a few weeks - if the squirrels don't get them.
Just looked at the front window, there's a beautiful pink sunset tonight over the hills.

We've got roast lamb tonight followed by a homemade gooseberry crumble and custard - yumm.

Happy birthday @raisingirl, enjoy your meal. Well I was going to do the bird count but thick freezing fog descended on us and I could hardly see the garden, let alone whether there were any birds in it. Have a good evening all.

    Evening folks.

    Happy Birthday @raisingirl 🎂💐🍾

    That’s pure loveliness @Hostafan1 💓

I hope everyone is doing ok - especially the germ-ridden people. Hot toddies all round (poorly or not).

Having a ‘backwards’ day today as cooked a roast dinner at lunchtime but not having it until tonight (made it to take a plate and a few bits over to Dad), had my hairwash already (usually an evening thing) and only just putting the washing on airer (been out this afternoon).

As the dinner requires little prep other than re-heating, I can catch up on some of my programmes now.

    Take care all.

Happy birthday @raisingirl There seems to be quite a lot of birthdays this month. My mum's was too. I think of her the most at this time.
