One of our two old walnuts has fallen as a result of recent heavy rain and strong winds.   They were both sickly and needing some TLC so it's not a disaster but could get messy.

@Busy-Lizzie - hope you get your new bath tho I do prefer a shower.  Been here over 5 years now and have only used the bath here for Rasta doggy and plants needing a good hose down to remove muck and dust and, in the case of plants, give them a good soaking of foliage and compost before leaving them to drip and drain.   Keeps them happy when indoors.

@D0rdogne_Damsel I think you should follow your instincts and not take on the one asking for escape clauses.  She'll be more bovver and stress in the long run than hanging on for a better prospect.

OH and I are shopped out.  It was a marathon.  We started with the Récyclérie for glasses but they had none I liked, let alone 6 the same tho I did rather fancy some coupes they had for dessert.  Resisted those but came out with a chest of drawers - 25€ - and a pair of wellies for OH - 5€.  Thence to a shopping centre to buy new house shoes for OH. Slippers flop too much.  Job done then Casa for some Italian crystal water glasses.  24€ for 6.  Found a navy top for me in another shop.

Spot of lunch then a huge garden store for wellies for me and some winter flowering heathers came too.   Next stop was a sofa shop to test drive styles but they had a power cut and everything seemed to be grey of cream.  Then a craft shop to buy tiles for mosaic, fabric shop to buy wool as it seems I need to learn to crochet and finally a Vietnamese SM for Thai basil, rice wine, black vinegar and mango chutney.  Poor OH was looking shell-shocked after all that.

Thai style pumpkin curry for dinner and a flop on our current sofas which are fine but need re-covering and estimates so far are 15m of fabric each at anything from 15 to 50€ a meter plus sewing time and zips and cord.  Simpler to buy new.

Good to see you @punkdoc and glad that you are feeing better. Have a wonderful holiday @Chicky don't forget the pictures for us. Hope your corner bath installation goes ahead on time @Busy-Lizzie, does it also have a shower included or do you have one elsewhere? That sounds like a successful, although very tiring, shopping trip @Obelixx enjoy your evening meal. @DOrdogne_Damsel I hope you feel better very soon. Sorry forgotten everything else. Have a nice evening everyone.

I already have a shower @Obelixx I had one put in in the utility room. The new bath will have a shower attachment. Gosh that was a shopping marathon, poor OH!

@Busy-Lizzie we have a separate shower in the bathroom and a new shower room downstairs.   Even in Belgium I only had about one bath a year after a long day in the garden.

It was a long shop but he needed to be there for half of it and has been shopping free for 2 years since the first lockdown.  He's only just started doing the weekly SM raid with me after Covid rules limited outings and numbers.

Glad you're feeling a bit better @punkdoc.  Small steps in the right direction will get you there.

Very envious of the shopping trip, @Obelixx! I’ve so missed my monthly jaunt into Exeter over the past two years, to say nothing of my frequent raids on the local charity shops- in theory, I go in to drop off donations, but seem to come out with more than I got rid of.
@chicky, OH always reminds me when I am stressing over the packing, that there will be shops at my holiday destination! And at duty free in the airport. As long as you have your meds, comfortable, broken-in footwear, and underwear that fits, you’ll be able to pick up anything you’ve forgotten, as well as more climate appropriate clothing at your resort. Have a lovely time!
