Morning all. That will teach you to drink coffee in bed Dove. Well,I did my washing earlier, with brilliant blue sky not a cloud now,it's black! Eldest daughter came to lunch yesterday, borrowed decorating stuff. Told me she just had a blazing row with son,28. He told her he's joined the Flat Earth Society. The moon is also flat. Satalites, space station, weather balloons, all fake. Wonder how he thinks we get satnav, sky TV,internet banking. He's very techy.

Well, obviously he isn’t … he just thinks he is 🤣

  • Morning everyone,  a bright and windy day here, though nothing like the weather suffered in the North. Hope all those with various ailments are on the mend.

    Good morning all.

Daughter 1 told me last night that she has just tested positive for Covid. She hasn't felt well for several days and has a horrid headache. The previous 2 tests were negative though. She's had her 3 vaccinations. Her OH and 2 sons have just had Covid, mildly. 16yr old son hasn't, he's had 2 vaccinations.

I'm off to Leclerc this morning. I didn't go to the SM last week. I just need enough until Saturday when I'm off to Norfolk and OH.

    Hi all
Ferocious gales in the night, not been to check on any damage yet, but bedroom is warm so I think we must still have a roof.
Sky is blue so hopefully get into the garden today.

Ooer @Nanny Beach - I wonder what is behind all this flat earth stuff?  Easy to laugh at people who believe such nonsense but there must be some deep insecurity in those that fall for it.
I saw a kitten facing left sitting up on its back legs to bat at something @Pat E.
Glad you still have your roof on @punkdoc.  I was expecting to see empty plant pots scattered about at the very least but only the birdfeeder had blown off the tree branch. OH had put that up - not very securely obviously!
Off to meet daughter for a coffee in town today.  I expect a cruise around the charity shops will ensue.

Don't worry, I know the sort @Nanny Beach ... inordinately impressed by tech and thinks he understands it, without understanding the basics underpinning how the world works ... deary deary me 🙄🤣  OH says it's attention-seeking behaviour, folk trying to make themselves feel 'special' ... best ignored (or laughed at).

    Hope D1 makes a speedy recovery @Busy-Lizzie … 🤞

Pretty blustery here @punkdoc, OH has been outside putting things back where they should be in the garden, but how long they'll stay there is anyone's guess.  Don't think it's anything like what you're getting further north tho.  Keep your heads down.

I'm still feeling a bit frail and my throat still hurts when I swallow, but not as badly as it did.  I've had a note to say our PCR tests will arrive today.  We shall see what we shall see.  We're almost out of bread ... OH was going to go to W'rose to get some but he's changing the bedlinen and clearing up my mess ... I can hear the 'hoover' up there ... so I've made a wholemeal loaf with the assistance of Mr K. Chef  ;) and some quick dried yeast, and that's proving now and we should have some bread in time for a 1pm lunch.  Mind you I've left a bit of a mess in the kitchen ... he says he'll deal with it if I put the bedlinen in the machine and set that going ... seems fair to me, bless him.

How annoying, @Dovefromabove. Just finished breakfast in bed without mishap, but have had the occasional coffee spill in the past, and they are a right pain to clean up after. Toast crumbs are pretty bad too! Glad you are seeing some improvement with your throat.
grey and breezy here this morning. Heard a really violent gust of wind just after lights out last night, haven’t been out yet to see what needs to be righted or relocated. Back to house jobs today, who knows when I will get out to the garden.
