Evening all. Been tied up with scraping paintwork, filling holes etc - hubby has the bit between his teeth and is itching to decorate the kitchen. I'm making him wait until I've finished the preparation though.
@Tui34 and @Liriodendron, thanks. I was surprised how many were out. It helps having a south facing garden in South West England so our weather's usually better than other places. The garden is reasonably large (though smaller than yours Lirio!) so there's space for different flowers throughout the seasons. I wanted to see something nice from the kitchen window so the clematis 'Freckles' was one of the first I planted and I just love hellebores for that first hit of colour after Xmas. The early snowdrops are 'Woronowii', Russian ones although I didn't know that when I bought them, a random choice from a favourite nursery in Berkshire. A friend gave me a clump of the lovely blue Iris Unguicularis (Algerian Iris). It's a bit tempermental and doesn't like being moved much but when it does flower, oh boy! Apparently smells divine cut for the house but I can never bring myself to do it. Glad you liked the pics.
Lovely pics @Lizzie27. Nothing like that in my garden on this side of the country yet. @Hostafan1 - your new baby grandson looks adorable! You must want a cuddle so badly... Oh how I miss my granddaughters being little. Trying to cuddle a teen just isn't the same. We were out again this evening! Quite the socialites we are becoming. This time for a talk on Rudyard Kipling. Much more to the man than Jungle Book and If!
And tomorrow I am going to be buying a painting! So pleasing - a lady moved to our town and when we met we discovered we had both gone to the same grammar school - she a couple of years ahead of me so I didn't know her then. She paints (she's an RA don't ya know) and we talked a lot about our old art teacher who we both adored. Although we have become friends, I wasn't a big fan of her work as I'm not keen on pastels, which is her preferred medium. But she posted a pic of a recent painting (pastel and oil) that I fell in love with and thought - I've been here before, regretting not buying a painting I love because I couldn't justify the spend. So this time I have gone for it. Our old art teacher would be so pleased that one of his students was buying a painting from another one.
Morning all. Who doesn't love a baby, Hosta, and he is gorgeous,(obviously takes after you!) Let's face it,some babies are purple and wrinkled! It's my youngest son's birthday today, the one I'm carer for. Going to see him, taking food. He wants me to take him to his local tip with a busted fridge. Luckily, youngest daughter told me,he has to take ID,hers you have to book a slot,as well.I've looked at the site, cannot find weather you have to book or not. He didn't reply last night. He will be even more depressed than usual, because of the birthday. Normally, I would bring the fridge back here, but hubby unable to lift, the chaps at the tip aren't allowed to help unload because of Covid, and obviously I can't get a fridge out of the car on my own! Forecast said up to -7,it's -1,bit of frost on summer house roof, none on the grass. Wish me luck folks, hope you all have a good day, whatever you're up to
Thank you for all your good wishes, a very tiny amount of improvement, but tiny really, I am using a heat cream and a lavender sack and every four hours taking ibuprofin and paracetemel, I certainly feel it as the 4 hours ticks down. I think I might try and get a doctor's important today because I can't just sit around like this for days on end. Easier said than done though as my doctor left in the autumn and no local ones are taking on new patients. There must be a solution.
Lovely baby photo @Hostafan1 I hope you get to meet him soon.
Really pleased you have treated yourself to such a meaningful gift @didyw good for the soul.
Glad you are getting somewhere with the improvements @Busy-Lizzie steady away.
@punkdoc the sofa is a big step away from the bedroom, again, steady away.
They did show on the weather forecast this morning the days are getting longer, all very positive.
Right, off to tackle wordle.
Good day all.

Great to see you back, @punkdoc . Glad the garden is providing solace.
Lovely spring flowers, @Lizzie27 - thanks for making me smile!
Hope the neck & head are easing, @D0rdogne_Damsel . I'm sure you're right to be hesitant about that employee.
Greetings to everyone I've missed...
Glad you liked the pics.

Hello everyone. Another quiet day. Clouds and a bit cool, but I’m inside playing around with colouring and paints. Simple fun. 🙄😁
Thank you all for the kind words about Grandson and for your continued support.
I'm very grateful and touched by your kindness. .
