@Pat E I think that’s a good plan. Do you have any mutual friends who could reinforce that message by saying that you’re both so vulnerable that they don’t visit you either.

I managed a walk around the garden with sécateurs in hand and managed to cut back a few dead stems. Some of the perennials looks so pretty with their seed heads I left them. The wildlife probably appreciate them too.
Slow cooked lamb shanks in the oven, another easy option. I might do mash potatoes, easy to swallow with lots of minty gravy.

Your Charlie sounds like a very bright lad @D0rdogne_Damsel. My g'daughter is like me - better on the arts side of things. She failed her maths but her parents paid for extra tuition to get her through the exam. However, even though she is already in the 6th form she won't get the results for a while yet. I do think you need to see your doc asap though - this has been going on a while now and you need to fit for your holiday!
What a shame you didn't find anything more interesting under your dishwasher @Obelixx - Roman coins would have been good!
Yes - do get a stick hoover for upstairs @Lizzie27 - we did and it's a godsend.
Have been reading back and following how the lurgy has been doing with you @Dovefromabove. It sounds like it's getting better but I wonder how you (or anyone) is catching other viruses when we are all still (despite what this incompetent govt tells) being so careful? But glad it is being monitored.
As for me - well, the past few days have been very frustrating. There have been a number of meetings (zoom and in person) all looking at plans to promote our town, but someone who had lots of key information sadly had a bad fall and shattered her shoulder and is stuck at home on heavy duty painkillers and unable to do anything. So one particular plan was going to be put back. However, she had now issued an edict that no, it must go ahead and even though the thing that was to be announced at this event has not yet happened the date cannot be changed. And now the person she issued that edict to has tested positive and is having to self-isolate!
My birthday today, and the 10th anniversary of my Mum's death.
The sun is shining, for a change. My birthday tends to mark the low point of the year, still got February to get through and that can be bad, but spring starts to feel reachable. Jenny is still here, still happy and apparently perfectly well, so that's another plus we didn't expect. I'm having a quiet day, having had a frantically busy week last week and probably one almost as bad this week.
Lovely news @Hostafan1, that hubby is doing so well. Nice to see you around @punkdoc. Take it easy, @D0rdogne_Damsel, be kind to yourself. Hope you can keep Regina away @Pat E
Hello to everyone else. I'm going to put my feet up and read my book - OH is cooking dinner tonight

Happy birthday @raisingirl, although I can understand the sadness attached. My mum was killed in a road accident 4 days after my 21st birthday in January. Christmas, January, all a bit gloomy one way or another. Glad to hear Jenny is doing ok though, something positive.

Happy birthday @raisingirl - sorry it is associated with a sad time for you. My mum (who we lost 15 years ago) appeared in a dream the other night. She just turned up - I wasn't expecting her and I was so pleased to see her. We had the biggest cuddle as I told her how much I had missed her! I had no idea that at some deep level I missed her that much.
Mixed emotions today @raisingirl ... but happy birthday ((hugs))
The tennis was amazing ... possibly the best match I've ever watched, and that's saying something ... I've watched a lot of great matches.
@didyw ... what can I say ... what a series of unfortunate complications ... I'm sure that somehow it'll all work out ... communities have a way of making things happen

That's lovely @Hostafan1 - my eyes prickled too.
Sounds like a good strategy @Pat E.

My clouds.
Just remembered the tennis is on, just managed to catch the very exciting end. I won't say who won in case others haven't seen it yet.
