Hi folks,  I've finally got out into the garden.  Sorted out the pots for the front of the house, edged the lawns and potted up begonias and nemesia.  I'm going to try and overwinter them this year to save a bit of money.  Haven't gone mad as the weather looks like it's going to be dry over the next few days so I'm hoping to get out there and do a bit each day.  Just two more green bin days left before the stop for the Winter.
Hugs Hazel hope you and the family are OK.
SGL, so glad the news was good re your OH.
Enjoy running around your field Biglad.

    Hello all.

I'm sorry about your family issues @Songbird-1, I hope it can all be sorted out. We look forward to seeing you back here.

Think I forgot to say good morning. I've been planting up my new bed. Planning it took a while. Some are plants in pots and some are plants I bought in the spring and planted in the veg garden. Some of those are big enough to split.

P came this afternoon to put up scaffolding. He and CB are going to point the stonework on the dining room extension next week. P also mended the electric gates which haven't been working properly, which I've found quite stressful. I managed to get them to open and stay open so I could go out, dared not shut them again. It was obvious that the cement lorry had hit one of the gates but the builder swore it hadn't.

Evening Busy. That problem with the gates must have been most annoying for you. Well done to P as well. I am signing out for tonight. See you all tomorrow people.

  • Evening everyone, sorry not been on since this morning. @Songbird-1 so sorry to hear you are having worrying times at home. Hope everything gets sorted soon. Look after yourself too. And see you as soon as you can come back. Will miss you Hazel, best wishes to you and your family.
    Thank you @Chivetalking @Dovefromabove and @Yviestevie Such a relief x
The weather changed during the day and we had a sunshine. Popped to shops this morning and got bread and quite a few other things jumped in the trolley. Picked up some chocolates etc to put away for the festival season.....for us and gifts.  Could just about carry it all home 😂
Then this afternoon I went out in the garden, weeded and raked some of the fallen leaves. It was really warm outside this afternoon.
    Have a lovely evening everyone

  • Hazel sorry to hear you need to take time out, although understandable.  Rubee I hope you and oh had a good sleep.  We are all here to support you and will be here for you.  Take care, sending best wishes to you.  I hope things improve for mum and your daughter.  Ante your style is very good and looks smart.  I hope the storm passed without damage.  Chive sending my best wishes to you and mum.  We all need a lounge morning at times.  Enjoy.  LB I hope you’re feeling better for a rest.  Don’t go at things hammer and tongs, take it steady and look after yourself.  It’s a shame you missed your outing but there’ll be other times for canasta.  Lily it’s good that you’re well stocked and enjoy your walk to the little shop.  Dove shaving can be such an irritant sometimes causing skin to be super sensitive.  I’m glad things have settled down for your son and he has some pampering.   Busy well done planting all those bulbs.  Enjoy your evening everyone.
  • Will say night night to you all. Sleep well everyone sweet dreams

  • Morning everyone, hope you all slept well.
It's a very foggy morning, I can't see much of the garden. Looks rather spooky outside 😉
Just enjoying my first cup of tea, snuggled on the sofa. Feels a bit chilly, the heating might have to go on soon.

Hello everyone. Hope you all had a good night's sleep. I'm not going visiting today - need to shake this cold off. It looks very wet outside which will help settle the newly planted bulbs. I'm glad its not just me who has started acquiring stuff for the upcoming festive season SGL but I don't think I could have chocolate in the house - far too much of a temptation!
Thoughts are with those in the quiet corner.

Good morning SGL - you snuckered in there. I've just finished my cereal and am enjoying my first cuppa. We've not had any fog yet up here recently but I always think that is another sign of the Autumn season.
