Hello all from beneath the eaves of an old stone cottage … coffee has arrived and we’re being serenaded by jackdaws in the church tower opposite. 😉 The clock has a pretty chime on the quarter hours and we really are in a quintessential rural village idyll.
One more coffee and we’ll start waging war on the Creeping Buttercup 😡
Good morning everyone. Rubee I can hear Alfie munching on his breakfast. I’m so glad he’s eating well now. Comforting sounds. LB I hope you can get your flu vaccine booked today. I’ll be needing to cut my hair soon. Topbird soak your foot in some warm water with some salt. Dove the village and sounds of the jackdaws will be lovely to wake up to. Biglad don’t work too hard hard. I’m picking dads prescription up this morning before visiting. The driver who does the deliveries is off presently.
Morning all. Foot's still a bit sore but it's ok. When you see a shard of flint like that you understand why they were used to make arrows and cutting / scraping tools. It was a small piece with a really long fine point - the sort of thing they would have used as a drawing pin in the Flintstones🤣
Not sure what to do today. Lots of tasks to pick from but I had a rubbish night so none are appealing at the moment. Best get started though...
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Good morning Biglad, Ruby, Dove, RosieBB and T'Bird. Got my flu vaccination and hair appointments booked. Oddly the flu injections are not being done in the village, I have to got to town but its no big deal really apart from the fact it is on a Saturday (25th) afternoon. Hair appointment is early doors the day before so I can have my cut and colour stripping consultation before I go to Canasta. I'm assuming I'll have to make another appointment for the deed to be done. I'm going through the 'should I - shouldn't I' period at the moment but if push comes to shove and I don't like it I can always go back to my violet brown!
Nipping over to help Jack pack up an exercise machine (not a huge thing) that is kaput as the company are having it picked up on Thursday. One of these TV purchases arranged by his daughter so I hope it all goes smoothly. It has been raining steadily here but a watery sun is trying to break through. 🤞🏼
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Was decidedly autumnal when I nipped out earlier. It's brightened up enough for me to gamble on affixing some items to a horizontal piece of thin, wiry plastic, though
Morning Hazel. I decided against recording The North Water as I wasn't that keen on the trailers but, like you, I've started recording Endeavour and ditto about the facial hair and in Vigil, the dreadful accent. I put my heating on first thing - it was perishing (Ante = very cold). Off to sort Jack out now.

Jack sorted. I've now had a text telling me that my flu vaccination is NOT in town but in the village. I am totally confused but very happy about that as I can walk there. Its only a mile.
p.s. Busy, it is drismal here and a little too wet to do anything much in the garden. I'll have something to eat and see how things go. Glad your drain is sorted.

Just got an e-mail to say my fence panels are being delivered tomorrow. Fingers crossed they haven't messed up the order - they didn't seem to like me trying to get everything in writing
One thing is guaranteed though - the weather will be horrible
Hi folks, very tired after yesterdays trip to Warwick Castle. Unfortunately both the boys were ill in the night, not sure if its something they ate or a bug. Poor Secondborn has a lot of bed linen to wash and mattresses to clean. I was planning a lazy day but I have been doing a few unmentionables. Have a good day folks.

Hope that foot heals quickly @Topbird 😯
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

The builder has been and done the drain in front of the garage.
I've been digging my new jewel bed but it got too hot out there. 31° forecast for 4pm.
I've watched the last bit of the Emma match on YouTube and seen her interview after the match. What an amazing young woman.
