Good morning Debs, Biglad, Dove, Ruby and SGL. SM shop went very smoothly - it certainly pays to get in there early if you can. It is lovely outside and once I've had some brunch I am off out.
I hope T'Bird and her OH have arrived safely and that the weather is kind for the racing and the exploring.
Debs, if you've had your massage you will be feeling very relaxed now I'm sure. Hope that your fiancé finds what he is looking for.
SGL, you have probably got lots of delicious things in your garden that tempted the deer.
Dove, that must have been a damn nuisance for you both and all the other shoppers in that store. Imagine if you had just been presented with a hot meal and you had to abandon it!

    Hello all.

I had trouble getting to sleep last night then I woke at 9am, late. Maybe it was the wine I had with dinner, haven't had wine since I was with OH.

I hope you weren't late for anything important @Dovefromabove.

There is quite a bit to do in the garden so I'd better get on with it.

  • Debs I’m glad your fiancé is feeling good enough to look for suits.  I hope he finds one without too much shopping around.  Busy I’m glad you were around your friends on your birthday.  LB I hope you manage to get all your shopping at sm.  I’ve yet to do mine.  Dove I’m glad it was only the heat that set off the alarm.  One of my friends was wandering around a diy store and the lights went out and they’d locked up and she was locked in.  Luckily, after a while, she’d managed to set off the alarm and the store was opened to find a customer inside.  It had been quite distressing for her.

Here you go Hazel, he is very cute.
I read my electricity and gas meters this morning. Got an acknowledgement email telling me I'm in a healthy credit. Four hours later I get an email telling me that my Utilities Company are no longer trading! Eek and double eek! Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Could the 2nd email be a spam LB? Because another utility company want your custom?

Getting on slowly with the garden. Did some weeding in the veg garden and planted out the best strawberry runners and cut off others. Planted 6 Brussels Sprout plants and 6 Curly Kale. Now for digging holes for 3 clematis along the paddock fence. It will probably be clay and hard work. I have compost.

Hazel ,your rabbit is gorgeous .I would have bought him too .
  • LB yes it has happened to me and they sent an inflated estimated bill compared to the previous one and now the company who have taken over are also over charging on estimated bills.  I have provided photo copy meter reading and they still haven’t sorted it out.  I can’t update my meter reading on line because it won’t accept a lower figure, so frustrating.  It’s been going on since July and I have emailed them all the correct meter readings and also provided these over the phone and I’m still waiting for my balance to be credited.  They send you an email leaving it open for twenty four hours you ring them and the line goes dead.  I have telephoned and emailed numerous times.
  • Hazel a lovely rabbit it makes you smile.

Not a scam Busy - sadly its genuine. I've been onto the Ofgem site and they have given me lots of useful - and reassuring - advice. They will be appointing a new supplier for me and I can either stay with that one or seek out my own preference. The company I was with - People's Energy and another called Utility Point (which has also ceased trading) are the two I have heard about today. Apparently there are two others as well.

Good grief RosieBB. That sounds like an absolute nightmare. Have you contacted Ofgem about this? I have sent a pm with a useful link RosieBB. Maybe that will help.
