    Morning all.

It rained most of the day yesterday. Daughter 1 and I stood under an oak tree to watch grandson (16) have his riding lesson. He has made huge progress and they had given him a rather elegant thoroughbred to ride. We were a bit chilly. Luckily the rain held off when daughter and I went to a GC. She gave me a tray of 12 bushy red wallflowers for my new jewel bed.

Today we are going to a restaurant for lunch. We were both planning to look smart in dresses but it's not very warm, I'll take a cardi. Yesterday I ate and drank a bit too much, Prosecco at lunchtime with patisseries for pud and Champagne in the evening with a delicious salmon and leek en croute that daughter made. I hope I have an appetite at lunchtime.

  • Waving at you all as you run around and do all the other Sunday things ... we're doing laundry and listmaking ... leaving here Wednesday night/Thurs morning ... heading off for a holiday ...................... slightly manic here but trying to give the impression of calm .......

  • The cloth things have just finished in the spinning thing......I was just going to go out to put it all on the whirly thing and its started to rain! I've put them on the airer in the conservatory 🙄  Looks like the rain is here for awhile, the sky is very dark.
Lunch time soon and a cup of tea.
  • Just back from visiting mum and dad.  Dad not very well.  Having difficulty keeping things down.  Hoping he’ll feel better very soon.  Hazel sounds like oh has done an excellent job of the cold frame making life easier.  I hope he rests today.  Biglad enjoy your running around and relaxation later.  Lily raining here today.  Clothes hung to dry.

Afternoon all. Unfortunately Ruby there hasn't been a big enough improvement in the weather but not to worry - there is always tomorrow.
RosieBB, I am sorry to hear that your Dad is not feeling too well. Hope it soon passes.
SGL did you watch 'Strictly' last night. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of competitors I recognised - far more than in the past which is why I didn't watch it then - and they seem a really nice bunch
Hazel, yes, I'll be riveted to Vigil.

  • Still raining here  @bluebellsinthewild & @Songbird-1 🤦🏻‍♀️
Rosie, do hope your dad feels better soon.
  • Oops sorry @Ladybird4 you weren't there just now.
Yes I did watch it. I knew a few too. I thought their group dance at the end was good too. They are seemed to have rhythm and were in sync with each other.
Will be recording Vigil tonight 😉

  • LB, Lily and Hazel thank you for your kind words.  I prepared some mushroom soup for dad at lunchtime so I hope he’s feeling better afterwards.  I’ve done Lily’s tv and I’ve been snacking on some cashew nuts.  Time to prepare dinner.

Ooh RosieBB, you have just mentioned one of my favourite snacks. I love cashew nuts and can eat handfuls of them.

I'm sorry your Dad's not well Rosie, hope he's better soon.

I've had a lovely weekend with Daughter 1 and family and we all enjoyed the restaurant today. Going home tomorrow morning. It has rained a lot though, not warm.
