    Morning all.

Daughter 2 paid an unexpected visit yesterday. She was furious with me for selling the family home, haven't seen her since I moved house. I live nearer to her than before.

Hope to finish the jewel bed today.

Good morning everyone. Guess who overslept this morning? SGL, my heating has gone on for a boost as it was quite nippy here this morning too. Sorry Debs, but you will have to explain 'hand foot and mouth' to me. You were a busy bee yesterday - but nice busy. The honeymoon break in Greece will have been a real tonic for your daughter. You will have much to catch up on when you meet up. Have a rest this evening.
Oh dear Busy, I hope that the olive branch has been exchanged since the sale. Good luck with finishing off the jewel garden but don't go over doing it.
Biglad, there must have been some extra good stuff in the soil underneath that mammoth plant.

  • It certainly does @Ladybird4 πŸ˜‰ glad you had a good night's sleep. Do you feel better this morning.Β
Morning @Busy-Lizzie hope all is well now your daughter has paid you a visit. Take it easy in the garden today, you've done so much this last week. The jewel garden sounds lovely, it will looks amazing next year. I remember photos of your previous garden, it was beautiful.Β

Thank you @star gaze lily. I think it will take a little more time for the relationship to be really healed with my daughter, but it's on the way. My other children have been very supportive.

  • Oh that's such a shame @Busy-Lizzie I can understand your daughter will have wonderful memories of her childhood home, but she has her own home now and hopefully will understand you can have your new home too.Β  You will always have special memories, but new ones can be made too. Its lovely she came to see you, perhaps she will come again very soon.Β  Sending a big hug Lizzie. Take care x

Hello all .... it's been a busy morning here ... changing and laundering bedlinen, potting up bulbs, that sort of stuff.Β Β
It was a bright morning but it's clouded over a bit now.

We had a lovely day yesterday with son ... he brought his guitar and played a bit for us which was lovely .... the meal was good and he pronounced Mum's Sunday Roast was as good as always ... we sent him home with some goodies too.Β  He had an op earlier in the year to remove a longstanding large infected cholesteatoma .... yesterday he looked better than he has done for some years and I think his general health has improved a lot ... he said he didn't know how ill he felt until he started to feel better :)

    Good evening.

Weather is still awful here. Wind is howling. I was at cottage after school just to inspect does wind made any damage. I saw first snowflakes up in the hills.Β
Yesterday I had very pleasant and restful day. I didn't had any plans but my friend dragged me in new furniture storein nearby city. I did enjoy and even bought a new bookshelf.

I'll spend rest of the evening in warm house and wait on football match.

I still have some veggies on the field. This is today's small harvest.

  • Sorry to hear your having awful weather @Ante30 Β enjoy the football and stay snug and warm.
It was very chilly here this morning, but by early afternoon the sun arrived. I spent some time in the garden and it was quite pleasant. Raked the oak leaves, not many but they topped up the garden bin that's being collected tomorrow. I also noticed one of my pots had a big crack in it, so I repotted the hosts, which had become very pot bound......hence the cracked pot πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ Actually split the plant in two,Β  reported them and tucked the pots behind the shed for winter.Β
Am I too late to get a Montana Clematis?Β  Or should i wait till next spring πŸ€”
  • Oh wow, @Ante30 those pictures weren't there just now. That's an amazing crop of vegetables πŸ˜πŸ‘
