LB, firewood can be messy indeed. But I like smell and that cosy feeling about fire. I killed two flies with one stroke. My furnace is connected to central heating so when I have fire I can heat whole house. I order firewood once a year, my shed is big enough for wood for whole winter.
It's really time to bed. Sweet dreams and see you all tomorrow.

My main source of heat is a wood burning stove but there are also some electric radiators. The kitchen breakfast room can get up to 24°. I had to stack 6m3 of wood but it probably won't last the winter. At least it's much cheaper than heating oil which has 20%VAT on it in France.

  • I’ve had a busy day doing things the col wouldn’t approve.  I found a cordon blue slow cooker on eJay free post apparently in very good condition, tested and fully working so fingers crossed, planning to do one pot meals and look around for a recipe book for a slow cooker.  LB I hope you’re feeling better than you did.  Hopefully rested.  I hope you all sleep well.  Goodnight everyone.
  • I've been doing the same sort of things today @bluebellsinthewild 😉  We'll both have to duck and hide from Col T 😂
Goodness that's an awful lot of wood @Busy-Lizzie you must ache after stacking that lot. You'll sleep well tonight.
@Ladybird4 hopefully you will be able to go on holiday with your family soon.
@Ante30 sounds like you've had a very busy day, work and then stacking wood too.

Anyone watching Hollington  Drive? I watched the first two episodes tonight. 3rd one is on tomorrow evening on ITV.
Will say goodnight too. Hope everyone sleeps well tonight.
Hope everyone in the quiet corner are ok. Take care.

Good morning everyone. Busy, I remember you telling us about stacking your wood. Who needs a gym? Good exercise there for you and Ante. Love your stove but do tell me - as I'm clueless - which bit of stove the fire goes in. RosieBB. I wouldn't be without my slow cooker. Such a boon in the kitchen. SGL, I'm not watching Hollington Drive - another programme that didn't appeal to me. I might have to make a SM visit this morning but that will be the first time I've been out in a week so I'll enjoy the trip.

    Morning all.

    Oh dear, I'm repeating myself

Sunny again but I must go to the SM this morning. I'll do some weeding this afternoon.

I hope everyone has a good day.

  • Good morning Lily, LB, Rubee and all to follow.  It felt like a warmer night.  I was also looking at bed shaker alarm clocks, you put a vibrating disc connected to the alarm clock with a cable, plug in but with back up battery, under your pillow and apparently shakes you awake.  I’m a poor sleeper but once eventually falling asleep I don’t hear the alarm.  I wonder if they’re any good.
  • Morning everyone,  it's a very foggy and chilly morning here. Its supposed to brighten up this afternoon, do hope it does.
@Ladybird4 I wasn't going to watch it either, but a couple of friends said it was good so I decided to give it a go. It's quite good, there wasn't much on last night......OH watched the footie in the other room 😉
I couldn't be without my slow cooker either @Rubee
Hope all in the quiet corner are ok. Thinking of you all.
