..thanks.. yes perfect for a pot.. it's only a small rose, best situated with morning sun only, shade from late morning.. the flowers last longer that way.. ..they start almost black with glowing centres, turning redder.. trouble free and quite vigorous, sending up short basals.. ..it makes a change..
..my scented rose today is 'Commandant Beaurepaire'.. such a fine scent, sweet.. it also appears to be repeat flowering.. I find 'Golden Beauty' quite photogenic.. 'Kew Gardens' is back up to about 7 feet.. I shall be training it again as a short rambler.. Nemesia 'Wisley Vanilla'.. is around my garden seat, as the strong scent wafts.. ..more Veronica 'Marietta'.. very impressed with this plant so far.. group of 3.. C. 'The Vagabond' just starting.. one I like very much, long season once it gets going..
@Oliya .. sorry for the delay in getting back, I've been out all day today..
.. re Kew Gardens.. mine is against support which draws the rose up.. I tie it to that support structure and as the new canes that it produces this time of year are quite bendy and flexible, I train those across somewhat, sort of short rambler style... at it's best the outreach was about 6-8 feet wide.. 7 feet tall.. ..here's a picture I took in a previous year.. I got on a ladder to take the photo, so I'm looking down on it..
We had a nice day out today at Peter Beales rose gardens... the first time I've been there for some years.. despite being in the same region, it's still a 2 hr drive, by the time we got lost here and there.. we enjoyed a good lunch before touring the gardens, which are free.. about 2 acres, so very manageable... all the roses were out in full bloom, some a little gone over.. I think it was just the right time.. lots of perennials too.. their plant sales area was superb, I could have spent a fortune..
I said I wasn't buying any more roses but I failed in this respect... only 1 though, a rose called 'Pirouette'..
'Apple Blossom'.. Rosa helenae...
..I think that's Rambling Rector.. 'Chevy Chase'.. forgot the names of these.. 'Veilchenblau'... 'Mutabilis'... 'Mme Alfred Carriere'.. all huge..
..this large shrub rose really caught my eye... 'Smarty'... I loved it.. I might have to get one.. ..this is 'Indianna Mae'... 'American Pillar' on the arch.. 'Armada'. with 'Parade'... I have shown Armada many times in my own garden, so nice to see it here too.. ..this rose really stood out looking across from the cafe.. 'Frilly Cuff'... similar colour to Gabriel Oak but lighter scent, however I expect it's a lot easier to grow..
..you can walk up there but there was a bee's nest so we didn't venture.. I love these arch tunnels..
nice pond, hexagonal shaped with a bridge across.. I rather liked this gazebo thingy.. ..the rose I bought is on the left... the other one I think is 'Pippin'.. 'Pirouette'...

I've got Kew Gardens but it’s in its first year so it’s still pretty short…
Also, could you post a photo of the whole plant? Thanks:)
