Splendid photos as usual Marlorena.  How do you find Kathleen Harrop?  I've grown her "sister" Zepherine Drouhin previously, but that would be too vigorous for my current garden.  I've read that Kathleen is less so?  (I expect disease resistance would be similar - not great.) Thanks.

... Hi Jemula... it's a serious omission on my part that I've never grown KH before, always had ZD, which was a good rose for me, I didn't get all the troubles often mentioned.. but I thought it's time for a change... so far she's not too bad, little bits of bs, not too much, but too early to say about vigour, I only planted bare root this Spring..   I do love the colour though, after the bubblegum pink of ZD..

..let me see how she progresses the rest of the season..

Do you have somewhere that you donated your unwanted roses to?

.. the recycle bin.. once decision made, they're gone..  I usually do the dirty deeds the day before bin day, so I have little time to change my mind, although I have been known to rescue one or two, in a mad panic..

Loads of people would dearly love to re-home them.
  • Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to share your garden in such detail. I enjoy the roses (and seem to acquire more each year…) but have also purchased many perennials based on your posts  :)

I know, it does seem a waste, but it's awkward..

... thanks so much... if just one person finds something of interest here, then that makes me very happy and it's been worthwhile..

I would like to know how is the flowering on Humes Blush Tea.. does it have flushes of flowers or random flowers every now and then..
