Good morning all, another wet and chilly day down here today, I understand how you feel Hosta regarding the weather. Is it a second hand new car @Dovefromabove? Great excitement indeed! My OH drives but knows nothing about cars except putting some air in the tyres when I ask him to, otherwise I do all the other bits. I have taken the plunge and ordered a smartphone for the first time, my daughter said it was about time! I think I may need a lot of help! OH has not had his first jab yet - he is younger than me, there are no available RDVs around our way. I tried to book online last night an available slot in the next department but it wouldn't let me as I was in a different department but not that far away! It is so stressful. Grrrr! Anyway, have a lovely day everyone whatever you are up to Â
Never cleaned the car,we are quite near the sea, seagulls!! Went to Brighton yesterday for hubbies 2nd jab, sitting in a car park,he had his window down and one flew over and actually managed to target INSIDE the door where it proceeded to pour down, luckily these days I carry almost a full PPE kit. Trip along the front, parked in multi storey, when we got home,my friend next door text and commented on the state of the car,you have to get it off quick
I do all the serious car cleaning in our house. Husband is allowed to wash it down first with the hosepipe, but can’t be relied on to clean it in the right order to not wipe grit around. He gets to rinse it afterwards too!
Yes @punkdoc I'm looking at a pre-loved Alfa MiTo ...  My son is on his third Alfa ... his current one is a gorgeous Brera ... not often seen. @WonkyWomble 's is also an Alfa .Â

A friend on another forum has just posted this ... "Apparently the anti-vaxxer turned up this morning and announced she was off to another London rally. This time it's to protest about the weather. Apparently the forces which are behind Covid are also the people who have organised this terrible weather for May ........................ looking forward to the News reports. I think Trump and his QAnon people are supposed to be behind it...."
... and to think that in the past we've always held @Fairygirl responsible for the weather 🤔 🤣

Many years ago, I had an Alfa Spyder, with a very leaky canvas soft top leading to rusted holey floor pans. I had hoped it would act as a "babe magnet", but sadly most of the girls I knew preferred to be dry.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Hi everyone, cold and damp here too, we've been doing the plant (non) musical chairs this morning, some of the things that were in the cold frame, have been put in the green wall , and I have moved more tomatoes out to the frame. Now I can pot on Dahlia seedlings plus a host of other things. There's a machine at the garage I sit in the car and it washes it, well worth £6 in my view. Don't do it more than 3-4 times a year. Â
I've always been told that Alfa Romeo are rust buckets. In Belgium we took our cars to the wash because, being in the middle of farmland, there was always a lot of mud about and long cold winters with plenty pf salt and grit so we'd go for the programme which included a chassis bath and protective spray. We liked to keep our cars to the death and never had MOT probs with rust.
That feature is not an option here and they don't seem to do drive thru carwash either. You have to position the car, put it in neutral and then get out.
It is cool again and has been wet overnight. The radar says there's a bit of rain on its way in a mo but it looks solid from below La Rochelle and all the way across to Lyon so a soggy day for @Busy-Lizzie@D0rdogne_Damsel@floralies and @tui34
I have been out to France Rurale to fetch U pegs to hold down my seep hoses, ready for tomatoes and dahlia planting. They also had baby leeks - first time I've seen those - and plugs of Swiss chard, broccoli and red cabbage which leapt into my trolley.
They had canna Downunder Dream on offer, reduced to 20€ so still not cheap. The pots were all crammed with shoots so is now a good time to divide them?  Â
That used to be the case @Obelixx ... no worse than any other make of car now ... as I said, my son has had three, Wonky has had two, another family member has had two ... none have had rust problems.  I usually have a protective spray done to the underneath every so often, whatever car I have. I usually wait until this time of year ... have the underneath properly washed and then re-sealed.
